Hey ppls.

Just playing with my new toy on the weekend, waiting for an Air pod.

I noticed that the R-34 GT-T air box has a sound deadening pad on the top on the inside.

I made the lightning fast decision to rip it out, and I now have a little more turbo noise, and I can now hear the standard blow off valve wokring.

It's in no way a performance mod, but for those who want the sounds, its not bad for zero dollars and about 2 minutes work.

BASS OUT

the mod that ed displayed is great.

boost comes on a little stronger and it doesn't constantly release at cruising speeds.

the sounds changes slightly when you take your foot off the pedal fast like between gearchanges.

instead of a shhhhhhh sound, it is more like a ka-tshhhh..

I did it a while ago and never had issues.

oh that air box pad is also in the R32's if anyone wanted to know.

wasn't there a huge thread about stock bov blocking the hole? I recall from that thread that some poeple experience better boost no leaks when blocking off the stock bov hole, others had doubt saying why nissan put a hole for reasons, don't know dude, do a search on 'stock bov'?

Hey ppls,

Well I did thi slittl emod the other day and found that boost response was improved, but unfortunately it was raingin at the time, so all fun was hampered by bulk wheelspin.

Today however, driving back form the airport, there was no rain and I can say that I am quite happy with the mod.

I used a grub screw into the hole after tapping straight into the aluminium, therefore I can remove it at any time.

Oh, and the BASS OUT thing is like the OVER AND OUT but my own personal little one. More of a remnant other internet forums which I have been a party to, and thereofre it just caries over.

So,

BASS OUT

    • yeah I've never understood that either.... And to answer an earlier question, I write the date on open bottles and throw them if more than 12 months old (which they almost always are, because I don't need to bleed them unless I'm changing lines/calipers etc in between)
    • Nah, the one that hit the boot was a big steel locker, around 6 foot height, 4 foot wide and 2 foot deep, empty it weighs about 15kg and had about that amount of stuff in it The photo didn't give a good representation of the actual damage, the large ding on the passenger side was about a inch deep, the one on the driver was about 1/2 inch deep, right on the curve, where the inner boot frame doesn't let you get behind it with a dolly Basically the same issue with getting behind the damage on the centre of the boot We could have filled it all with bog, but my OCD would be triggered every time I looked at it, knowing what hides beneath  As for the locker, I did get the shits with it and put it in the scap metal bin, but, I pulled it out and it is now sitting in the garage at home full of car servicing stuff, cleaning gear and random tools, it's going to pay for it's indiscretions
    • Whilst I typically don't cheap out on things, if I can save some money, like $1000, on a clean straight panel, that gives me $1000 to spend on other stuff, basically free money really 🤔 🤣
    • Is the toolbox that damaged the boot seal the same item that fell on the car during the storm a while back?
    • Who are you to deny yourself? I’ve said this many times to myself and apart from getting what I really want, I go quiet for a while whilst working out what I just did to my savings and how will I afford what it cost, then, next payday…
