RusH_
Wow top job Dave. Sure beats paying $1300 + for nismo ones. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/279931-r34-led-bootlid-brake-light/page/7/#findComment-6359382 Share on other sites
Aggroman
wont be able to do any others for about 3 weeks (holidays, racing etc) They need to be installed into your factory housings so if you are happy to be without taillights for a week (1-2 days fitting and return postage) im happy to do them for $500 including return postage.. If you need your taillights because its a daily im looking at buying a spare set and doing it on an exchange basis for the same price (but a $100 retainer that will be refunded when your lights reach me to ward off people trying to keep both) If you are interested say so here or PM me and ill start up a group buy. Here are some more build pics CNC machine making surrounds What they look like before install underbody coat to protect wiring and joins from the elements and corrosion etc, plus it looks nicer. RusH_
Sack Boy! Also have you thought about doing anything for the indicators? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/279931-r34-led-bootlid-brake-light/page/7/#findComment-6360703 Share on other sites
Aggroman
I have had another person ask for indicators, it wouldnt be too hard at all. they would obviously cost a little more and take longer as I wouldnt release it until i was sure that it worked flawlessly.. as a side note, took the car down to canberra and they were perfect all the time, even survived a -4degree night covered in ice Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/279931-r34-led-bootlid-brake-light/page/7/#findComment-6366052 Share on other sites
SS8_Gohan
does the black backing make the lights look 'tinted' when they're not on? have you pulled apart a Nismo set? do they mount on black backing? i've got the Qest ones, they look great and are made very nicely but back is too light, i want the OEM look like Nismo. I take it these are brighter than Nismo? 666DAN
Depending on how close the discs are mounted, you don't really notice anything, the better option is to spray them RED, or Silver and they are seemless, our old kits used a fairly heavy silk-screened and soldered board, but the larger one had to be mounted further back to avoid uneveness in the LED ring (you'll notice some kits go blurry for about 25% of the ring where they're not parallell to the red lens) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/279931-r34-led-bootlid-brake-light/page/7/#findComment-6367153 Share on other sites
Aggroman
Hey Daniel I just went outside and took a photo so you can see for yourself, I dont think they do and look as per factory minus being able to see the LED's which is exactly the same as genuine nismos as I was lucky enough to have a friend with a set that let me get nice and close to look at it all but didnt pull it apart as we were far from home. I will try and mount the boards further back for some people if they prefer to hide the LED's a bit as my set are basically a test set till I buy another set of lights to 'experiment' on here you go Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/279931-r34-led-bootlid-brake-light/page/7/#findComment-6368971 Share on other sites
