Popping Sound

my r33 is making a popping sound when i am on full boost and it seems to only happen on full accelerator

it sounds very worrying , it is like vrrr ssshhh pop pop pop sorry i dont know how to explain it better

any thoughts would be appreciated

probs blowing out spark. buy some new plugs and gap them down a bit until it doesnt do it anymore

after you done/tryed all thats mentioned by other peeps go buy some AFM cleaner and clean up your AFM, it all helps

does yours happen under heavy acceleration at about 5-6000rpm on full boost??

That points towards the coilpacks if its happening above 5000rpms, but yeah, regapping your plugs and giving the afm a clean wont hurt

yeah sounds like coil packs... time to whip out the electrical tape...

+1 i bought some contact cleaner for afm from autobarn @ 20bux and game my afms a clean and the car seems to idle better and feel smoother in the rev range; although it probably aint the problem, i now think its a must as afms seem to get dirty quite quickly.

How much boost you running? If it's around 14psi and you have the standard ecu then there's your problem.

i seem to be geting this problem aswell, although my s1 r33 seems to spitt out white moke after backing off aswell. havent changed anything yet, coils,plugs probly, could a buggerd turbo be causing all the white smoke??

white smoke = oil

black smoke = fuel

white smoke probably means you've got a dodgy oil seal somewhere in the engine, either piston rings, or turbo.
