Hey guys, im new here and looking for some input on 1.5 way and 2 way diffs

i have a nissan 300zx Na aus spec, manual, runs pretty good, will be a TT in a years time

its my daily, and im looking at getting into drifting and racing with it for now.

took it out for a little on the skidpan with project D, and the only thing restricting me from really going hard was my diff, so looking at other options.

what are peoples opinions with 1.5 and 2 way diffs,?

past experiences?

whats the best choice for track/drift suitability and still being comfortable on the street?

cheers guys

I wouldn't imagine many people are running 2 way diffs on their street cars, they're not very nice with daily driving.

Why not? I have one in my 32, will be the daily once the 32 sells :)

if it isnt for drift, 1.5 way is prob more appropriate, i bought my car this way.

ok, yeah looks like i can get a 2 way kaaz for about a grand, and a 1.5way kaaz with 2L of oil for 1100 delivered so i might be going the 1.5 route,

so will this affect street performance through the twisties at all?

and having the NA diff being an r200 makes it easy as its the same as almost every other nissan.

cheers guys

I put a Nismo 2-way in my 32 and drove it daily for over a year with like that. I found it fine (bit noisy and clunky but super predictable), just don't back off around bends

There is an in-between decision you can make to have your diff tighter, and that is shimming your diff (you have a viscous R200 right?).
