Nah not that stiff i'm just running bog stock Tein super streets with 5kg/mm Fronts and 4kg/mm Rears and was running 20psi in all 4 tyres. Only thing i done from last time was change the rear end geometry from 1.5degree negative Camber to 0.2degree negative and put 1mm toe out on the rear.

Hi Guys,

I have some spare time to write an update now, as use know we went out to Palymara Dragway for a test and tune on friday night, I got 5 runs in total done for the night, my first run I backed off in 3rd gear to roll through as we where only trying to make some progress on my launches and get those dam 60 foot times down lower, well that was a fail and i still managed to roll through for a 11.6. As I dont have a Andra Super Street licence I cannot run under 12secs and basically there was an argument about me having to leave. In the end I was alowed to continue as long a I backed off in 2nd gear. So I completed a further 3 more short passes and eventually got my 60 foot times down to 1.62 which is still fairly bad in my eyes for a GTR (BUT i do have 19inch rims on and im way to hard on the clutch still, so getting f**k loads of wheel spin in 1st gear). After a few hours the Drag Offiicals approched me and said that they have some free Andra Super Street licences available to give to me as i said f**ken oath $150 buck licence for free Wahoo hahaha. Which still only allows me to run in the 11 sec bracket and no less. But on my last run I just gave it all shes got and managed to pull a 10.33 at 145MPH with a very shitty 1.73,,, 60 foot time and probally some of my slowest gear changes.

So I have only done 2 full qtr mile passes in the car and managed a 10.99 at 135MPH and than a 10.33 at 145MPH so hopefully I can pull it together and get a 9sec pass on those dam 19inch rims and this is only the 23PSI small tune at around 700RWHP. Havent got the pills yet to put it into the 26/27PSI tune which is around 800AWHP.

Parachute is on its way :)

any TCS system........ and camber on the front?

There is no TCS system, there is very mild camber on the front, we did pull all the camber out of the back which was at -1.2 degree and is around -0.2 now, using my brothers new fangdangle camber and toe alignment gear.

How come you changed to some toe out on the rear? Usually that makes the rear want to step out and try to steer from the rear. Typically you would put some 1-2mm toe in on the rear to help drive the car straight, unless drag racing setup is arse about to circuit for some reason im not aware of???

Curious to know mate!

But good work though! Just need more runs and you will slam those times!

+1, I was a bit surprised too. Maybe there is an issue with dynamic camber when it squats to leave the line?

Thats possible I guess. Maybe under squat it is toeing in excessively?? So the toe out is to compensate for it??

10.33 sec at 145mph with a 1.77sec 60ft on 19" Advan AD08, only on 700rwhp. Next will be a 9 banana.gif.

this clip gets me so revved & "Thats how you do a farken burnout, you weak v8ated carnts!" well that just is the icing on the cake, its awesome :)

with that mph youa re capable of a low 9, paul diemar pulled a 9.45 qtr @ 142mph.

Awesome commentary haha

Nice time as well, makes me want to go back down to the drags as my first pass was very similar to yours (11.03 @ 132.5mph). Mind you I'm not going to pick up the extra 10mph that you have :)

Seems like it bogs down a little in second gear? More revs in first needed?

that is awesome mate. the car sounds very crisp and is certainly putting out every one of the claimed 700+hp at the wheels! it's a credit to you and the guys that helped with the build and tune. it really runs sweetly.

great effort on driving it too. big power GTRs are not as simple to drive as people like to think. I really do hope you get that 9 second slip on the AD08s.

Thanks for you support and comments guys, as for the toe out on the rear, i remember reading it a long time ago somewhere on another drag GTR possibly an old HPI magazine not quite sure, so i decided to try it. The Car seem to handle OK, we are still in the experimental stage but all n all happy with the progress. Not going to up the power yet as we should be able to get the 9 sec pass with a few more tweaks, and i have only done 2 proper flat out runs as they keep kicking me off the track. I am going to change the camber angles again front and rear this time to try get a little bit more usable grip. If the 9 sec pass is achievable on the Advans, i might up the power levels and see how far i can push them maybe a mid to low 9? Don't know see how it goes, i get quite a few weird looks out at the strip from all the falcodore guys cause we run 19inch wheels and get 10's lol, then drive home and they all have to change the rims and tires back over, makes me laugh rofl.gif

I have ordered all the parachute gear today so should have all that shortly, only delay will be moving the dry sump tank from in the car into the engine bay, a lil bit of stuffing around but i do have to order a smaller Peterson tank which could take a little while to make as know one has them in stock. f**king gay ANDRA Rules. down.gif

I would definitely try reducing that toe on the rear to 0 or even a bit of toe in (maybe start with half a mil each side). toe out makes them a bit taily. I know it squats a fair bit but yeah some toe in on the rear will make it a bit better to drive. I'm sure most guys that have tried different alignments on their skylines and GTRs would agree.

bummer about needing the oil tank in the engine bay. can you not seal off the boot area with a proper firewall and keep it in the boot? or does andra mandate that all fluids must be confined to the engine bay or something?

    • Rear doors central locking wiring removed and cleaned. See the first 8sec video of when it’s filled with river silt. its a snip of what I’m up against. front and rear doors complete now. Maybe another day removing carpet and bits and pieces. Then the re assembly begins. 🤙 att.DqweJqhY5MZiZYQDVMhn3LtvdD1RBZ7TBG4f2s7W1zM.mp4 att.lFuN22MZEowqCbFAXoDw009r2gHL76ChMVfxMfBX-uk.mp4
    • There aren't boost creep issues, it's not engineered around the restriction of the cats but if you haven't tuned the engine a full decat + exhaust can flow enough air to run off the end of the OEM load scales and you will get a pretty substantial reduction in ignition timing as a result. I recommend using DFCO, avoiding ignition cut limiters, and avoiding popcorn tunes along with running a cat unless you enjoy a perpetually soot-covered and potentially burnt bumper.
    • Small update, it's been slow moving over the Christmas period with money having to go everywhere thats not my car 😅. I got myself a little present to myself from "santa" in the form of some tidy radiator mounts from fitmint automotive to get rid of the stock ones that look like they have been in an accident before and then straightened by a caveman. I know I should've replaced the rubber bush at the same time but I had no idea how bad they were until I was replacing the mounts. Decided to order their dash mat while I was at it as I feel like I am lucky enough to have a pretty decent condition dash and I don't want to risk it being ruined while it's parked in the aussie sun while I'm at work. I have found another electrical fault to add to the evergrowing list to eventually chase down. Every time I replace my taillight globe it blows within a day of use, I'm starting to think my life would be easier if I took a few minutes to learn how to use  a multimeter 😂.   Had some luck with finding a series 2 drivers headlight on marketplace to replace my mismatched series 1 headlight, a subtle difference but it's nice to have a matching set of lights now.   I returned to the air con problem due to being sick of this summer heat, found a good condition condenser to replace my leaking one! I got it in the car and was happy when I got the thumbs up that the system was now holding gas. Sadly the compressor is not kicking in for some reason, we even tried branching the relay in the fuse box. I have tried to do some research on the issue with no clear understanding of what the fix is, so for now it will be placed on the backburner until I can be bothered to look into the wiring to the compressor. The last small mods I have done was cutting the horizontal vents out of the front bar, not really in a functional airflow sense but I just think it looks better as I am not a fan of the series 2 bar. I also switched the shift knob out for a hosoboyo aluminium grex style one, it has a really nice more direct driving feel than the outdated rubbery oem one. Thirdly, I chucked on one of the ebay bonnet strut kits. The fitment is decent and they seem to work fairly well. They have only given out once while the car was parked facing downhill, I think if I was working under the bonnet I would still put the oem hood stay up to be precautionary as to avoid getting a speedy concussion.
    • Got pneumonia, haven’t played with her in a while, but I’m back now. Previous owners cut bonnet pins into the bonnet. My choice try find a replacement or spend $15 get some pins myself to cover up. Now only one small hole to cover. looks shit now, but when the bonnet is red again. Be good 🤞
    • No R32 GTSt had 15" wheels. 205/55-16 was standard GTSt fare. 4.36:1 is standard R32 turbo auto diff. I think the manual was too, not 4.11. 4.11 and 4.08 were R33 namual and auto respectively.
