mosoto
Just a quicky. About to get tyres and was wondering if my 03 V35 has TPMS or is this an infinity G35 optional thang? It pops up frequently on the G35driver site but no mention of it here, So I assume not a V35 option!!!!???? siu_loong_bao
The closest aftermarket thing to have a TPMS in your V35 is to buy a kit online...Forgot the name of the kit, but you'll find it would set you back around $200-ish dollars from Taiwan. They screw onto the tyre valves and have an anti-theft mechanism. The batteries on the valve units are supposed to last 1 year.... I suppose the kit works as I saw a retailer at a 4x4 place sell the same product (same brand) for $350.... Just search for [tyre monitor] on eBay... dannyw
save the money, and do a pressure check every 2nd time you go to the petrol station.. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/280515-tpms/#findComment-4733282 Share on other sites
siu_loong_bao
hehehe.... or if you really got money to burn, buy some run-flats with the TPMS!!! My wife owned a Mini Cooper S in Dubai (with the factory TPMS and run-flats) and the combo worked great! mosoto
When there's less than 75mm of rubber between the road and the lip of an expensive set of 20" rims, you'd want to know when the tyre is deflating rapidly from a punture so you can pull over before any damage is done. BenzLe
...I keep the tyre pressure at 40 psi both front and rear... for better rolling effieciency! haha I guess if you ever did get a sudden puncture, you will definitely know it with either a large BANG or steering wheel behaving very wierd. Stephen Thorpe
not sure what size rims everyone has but low profile needs high(ish) pressure. I keep my 18's at 38-39psi and I can normally tell if it drops by a couple of psi. the Manufacturer always underestimates the value by about 8% and I always raise the psi by about 3 or 4 psi on 36. I love seeing people driving around on flat tyres... until they have to stop behind me! Having a flat tyre or tyres must handle atrociously.
