Hey guys how are you?

When I went to the tyre shop on Monday to fit my new wheels, they took out two bolts (as per the pictures below) from somewhere around the disc brakes.

The guy said that all skylines have these and that they are not really necessary, they always take them off and throw them away. He said he needed to take them off to fit the wheels.

Do we know what they are for? Are they really unecessary?

I kept them just in case.

Thank you!

Hey Juan,

They're there simply to stop you mixing your stock wheels up front and rears. The front stock wheels have a different groove to allow that bolt to sit inside it whereas if you tried to put the rears on the front there is no allowance for the bolt so they won't sit on.

Same with aftermarket wheels, they have no allowance for it so you have to remove them. Don't worry about it though, it doesn't do anything but that.

Lucky your guy new about it, i got a call from the place i took my car to, saying i got the wrong wheels with the wrong hub diametre, when all it was, was that bolt.
