66yostagea
Black cluster. (S1) No dimmer control. Lights piss weak. In my R30 you can control the power windows AFTER the ignition has been turned off. That was the crowning glory of the R30 and why I have had four of them and still have two. Arm ripping location of oil filter. Now have relocation. Apart from the above the Stagea is PERFECT. pyro-ns
i take it this is going to be similar to the good bits thread? if so: The STUPID top facing intake manifold - Lets make the most basic of all service procedures take 15 times longer. Tangles
S1 auto not tiptronic all turbo's across the range C34/M35 should have been garrett gt3076-spec from factory S1 ecu modifiable without the need for a 48pin-84pin chip adapter to house the remaped chip S1 and S2 should have had silvia s15 JDM 450/480cc injectors standard S1 and S2 swaybars should have been thicker think thats about it, along with the above comments Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/280542-the-bad-bits/#findComment-4732989 Share on other sites
66yostagea
Yep Tangles but was thinking more along the lines of generalities in design, rather than performance. If you throw ten grand at a Stag it will go like a 911, but the effin windows still wont close unless you turn the key on. Why did Mr Nissan do away with this feature????? rb26stagea
Wing mirror and front shock towers prone to rust. Cost of manual centre console ($2k or so, if you go genuine) sun visors that look like crap as soon as they're a few years old weather strips that break easily and are almost impossible to get replacements for. no bi-fold console lid in S1 Dayz side skirts always seem to go misshapen near the rear wheelarch That said, I always found my (S1) headlights to be very good, and I didn't mind the standard seating position (but my recaros sit a little lower, and it is significantly better) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/280542-the-bad-bits/#findComment-4733452 Share on other sites

pyro-ns
if it's design faults you want, the clock on the dash is further away than it should be and there's not many practical spots for gauges, lol, although i doubt that's what they think of when they're designing a car front guards under wing mirrors and front shock towers prone to rust.Cost of manual centre console ($2k or so, if you can get one) sun visors that look like crap as soon as they're a few years old weather shields that break easily and are almost impossible to get replacements for. no bi-fold console lid in S1 Dayz side skirts always seem to go misshapen near the rear wheelarch (end cap pops out) That said, I always found my (S1) headlights to be very good, and I didn't mind the standard seating position (but my recaros sit a little lower, and it is significantly better) !!! i thought that was just ours! the wife's stag looks like somebody's just stuck a dayz kit on it (missing the rear of it though) and i thought it was just poor fitment, haha. BensDR30
Already mentioned, but: +1 on the window controls +1 on the door rust +1 on the dimmer (or lack thereof) +1 on the oil-filter location (and subsequent farkin mess...) The biggest problem is that Nissan never imported them here, so we've all had to wait 5+ years to get hold of one... 66yostagea
Bad bits?RS boost gauge failures. OE turbo exhaust wheel... poo ceramic doesn't last! That is all. Yes it does. If you want to flog the guts out of ANY vehicle, it has to be built to suit your bent. I drive pretty hard on occasions. But there is a big (mental) difference between a hard (on) and a flog. The Series 1 has an oil cooler (adjacent the filter), doesn't the series 2 have the same setup? And, The S1 trans cooler is a bit piss-weak, but I'm sure it's fine in Japan Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/280542-the-bad-bits/#findComment-4734818 Share on other sites
