I received the acceptance list today,,,seems Nissan's/Datsun's are growing more popular.

Steven G,,,Datsun type 3

Richard S,,,Nissan Pulsar no class listed

Johnathon M,,,Nissan 200SX type sv

Stuart I,,,Nissan R33 GTR type sv

Mark S,,,Datsun 120Y type 4

Marek T,,,Nissan GTR type 4

Duncan F,,,Nissan GTR type 2

Chris P,,,Datsun type 1

Aiden C,,,Datsun 1200 type 3

Great to see in my humble opinion.

The last one is rather interesting,,,could a certain QLDer being coming to play?.

I'll be running the Radical with a replacement motor for the 1st time,,,so I'll take it easy in the morning and if all goes well I'll get into it in the arvo. Should I buy new slicks,,,thinking,,,thinking,,,enough thinking.

that would be a 1.37.8 (2nd outright) excellent time for one Mr Mark Berry?

And we do have some pic of Stuart's 33 (and some better pics of all SAU-ers :P) floating around on that new high tech camera...

if only i could work out how to actually download them...

yeah, 1.37.8 was fantastic! but we were still battling a few little problems and mainly just trying out some different tyres etc. with a set of new softs on it would go quicker and with the few little issues ironed out even quicker again. Mark said on saturday he reckoned with it all going well a 36 would be do-able and having seen how he did the 37 I would say maybe even a 35 or better would be possible. imagine how it would go on a set of good slicks. a car like this would really benefit from slicks as it's still on tiny 265/18inch yokohama A050 semi slicks. they are doing a very good job though to get that much power and that much car around the track. guys run tyres that big or bigger on mild-ish evo etc!

the white radical was pretty cool. it must have about 1hp/kg power to weight ratio with the V8 in it. it does 1:28s though so it's a whole other ball game from cars like marks. and it should be I guess being a purpose built LMP style race car vs a road car mark built himself.

it was good to see lots of SAU guys doing well. Neil did well in the radical, and duncan did really well to be just 2 10ths of neils radical! that is insane considering duncan drives his home and it's on semis vs slicks! just goes to show the potential in the R35. Marek did really well too.

I didn't get to see much of Inwoods R33 but it looked quick out there and was obviously doing well. good stuff. and I spoke to another couple of guys with a white GTST that had come down from newcastle. it was their first skyline just recently purchased and they seemed to be enjoying it.

Well what a fun and interesting day,,,It didn't start very well,,,but it ended up just fine. Lots of work to do,,,I have a list a mile long but we got through the day and we went quicker basically every session.

I beleive the "Raceworx" hoodoo is now null and void.

Massive THANKS to my pit crew who worked tirelessly all day.

The 1st lady who as usual polished the whole car,,,cleaned my helmet ect and looked after me and our tummys all day.

Kel and Duncan what can I say but a HGE thank you. I even got in trouble for trying to refuel the car and spilling it,,,Sorry Kel.

Congrats have to go the GTR's,,,Mark,,,Stuart,,,Duncan and Marek,,,all in the top 10. Well done boys. If it wasn't for that pesky Radical SR8,,,Mark would been outright winner!!!.

If you need to know what an SR8 is running,,,heres a quick little run down:-

1/ Basically two Suzuki hayabusa engines mated together to make a V8.

2/ Dry sumped of course.

3/ Paddle shift with auto blip down the gearbox and the same as me flat shift up the box.

4/ Basically F3 rubber,,,tyre warmed,,,thats sucks.

5/ Weight,,,if mine is 510 kilo's then it can't weigh more than 650.

Oh what about the camera work,,,nice indeed. Looks like the new camera set-up works a treat.

Neil.
