Ok, thinking out loud here. Lately there have been a few people on these forums doing the LED strip R8 style parking lights. The other day i was looking at the R8 and noticed it has LED strips on either side of the engine bay to light it up at night. F***ing cool i was thinking. When i got home i started thinking how annoying it is at night time having to do something in the engine bay with poor lighting on the side of the road, and thought of doing something similar to the R8.

Anybody tried anything like this? Obviously it would be best to have it as hidden as possible and throw the light around the engine as much as possible. You could hook it up to the bonnet latch so they come on automatically when the bonnet is popped. (Off of the alarm sensor if you have one fitted). So need some experts on LED's here, what would be the best ones to use? Are there some powerful strips that are only 4-5 LED's in length? Something that withstands a lot of heat obviously, or are they all fine for heat?

I know there is neon coloured lighting kits on the net, but i dont mean something that gay. Just something small and subtle in white.

Anyway see what you guys think....
