im trying to find out if i will hav trouble wiring up a rb25det using a r32 20det loom and ecu.i know about the side and top feeddz.

will i have to wire in a ballest resister???????

also do each injector hav positiv and negative pins on them or???

also how can i tell if my ecu is 20det or 25de.iv look at alot of dif ecu and the numbers on the front cover but im hereing alot of dif storys please help

As I mentioned previously, the rb20det silvertop loom will go straight onto a r32 rb25 head only. It will run a r33 head as well, but the injector plugs will need to be changed, and it will also have no VVT solenoid plug. Nor will a chipped rb20 ECU have the ability to run VCT.

So if your not going to run VCT, and your able to change the injector plugs then it should be fine.

You will not have to wire in any resistor, both are high imp injectors. Each injector will have a common 12+ wire on it which goes back to your IGN relay. The ECU then pulses ground signals to each injector in order to fire it.

Each injector on the negative side will have a different coloured wire indicating the cylinder number on the ECU pinout.

Just completed a 30det in my 32,used a rb20det loom and had no troubles,also using a mapped 20 ecu,nit sure if any of this helps,head was a r33 rb25de s1

im doing to transplants atmo.got 30e bloc with 25de vvt head.runing 32 loom and gen1 25de chiped ecu.what sort of injecters did u use.im thinking of using sr20det 1z

ok thanks is there a way to hard wire vvt to a 20det ecu?its geting dynod on friday and has piggy back in it(no afm)

also on my own project 30e 25vvt head,im runing gen1 25de ecu chiped for plus t and was told i kan hard wire vvt off the oxysensor if i put a 5volt relay or sumthing b4 it gets to ecu??????? chers guys

    • I have to put something here in order to post the photos. From what I could gather there's more enthusiasm for modified cars now than there has been for years. There were probably more younger people there than older (me included lol) which was a good sign.  It did seem like the record least amount of representation of the 90's era hero cars on display though. Like maybe one or two examples of S-chassis Nissans, and maybe 3 or 4 R-chassis. By comparison there were a lot of Civics from that era but in all there were about 10 - 12 EG/EK Civic Type R.  Euro exotics are always there in large numbers, led by Liberty Walk...... say what you will about kids using markers to scribble on a Ferrari F40, it did seem like a stunt to infuriate Ferrari enthusiasts, or Ferrari itself. I wonder if there's something more to it. Either way LBWK have done some heinous things to a Lamborghini Miura this time. They should stop now.
    • Engines and drivelines are not war stoppers for me mate, busted arse bodies and un-obtainium parts and panels are though Both cheap Brumbies I looked at had trashed tubs and a fair bit of rust
    • Stock O2 sensors are narrowband. They're useless once you're away from stoich. IE, useless for what you're trying to do. 10:1 will read the same as 14:1 from the stock O2 sensors. That is, they'll read rich. The same level of rich.
    • I agree once misfires happen it's basically worthless, but the hope is you can see what's happening in the run up to that.
    • You should totally get a Brumby, and then come pick up the Subaru Liberty GTB I have here. EJ25 Turbo, 6 speed manual from the sti (just no dccd), and the good rear diff. Drop all that into a Brumby and go have fun!
