I dont see a member going by that user ID.

If its the 3rd time you have been ripped off - then that to me says there are some major issues with the way you conduct purchases over the internet.

As for what you can do? Contact the Police in your local state and go from there.

I am happy to provide IP address information upon request from the Police Officer involved in the investigations/case.

I will not however provide this information until it comes from someone such as Police for privacy reasons.

So the above is what to do "now", however i think you really need to look towards next time and how you approach a purchase.

The way YOU make purchases is the single problem here as i see it.

If 1,000's of users a month can buy/sell/trade goods without being stung, how is it you have been burnt 3 times? That just makes no sense im afraid.

1. Use forum traders where ever possible, they carry the least amount of risk

2. Use recognised members of the forum - club members/contributors/exec's/admin/mods. Also people with a reasonable post count & history that have been around for 6+ months.

3. Think before you buy. If something is 'conveniently' priced, its probably that way for a reason.

4. Don't buy from people with a registration date of last week and only 20 posts

I can understand if you really need a part then you might be inclined to purcahse then an there, but please use common sense and follow the above.

If you use basic common sense, in all honestly, you should never be ripped off.

I would say almost every single "bad user/sale" is generally the fault of the person buying letting themselves get stung as is common with just about every internet based scam.

So please take my advice and protect yourself, as its simple - buyer beware

Thanks.

Hi R31 Nismoid,

His user name is wired44 and I've had PM's from people who are in the same boat as me with this guy.

I have been doing motorsport here and in the UK for 15 years and have a pretty safe knowledge of the rules of buying from the internet. Fact is you don't know if your going to get ripped until you put the money in the bank. I have his name and banking details and am trying to track him down as we speak.

Pete.

While I agree with everything you have said, I cannot agree with this.

Mate that is a simple recipe to get ripped off and honestly if you follow my advice above - you will not get ripped off.

Try telling that to the people who purchased from JSAI

But as you say..........Caveat emptor

So you purchased from someone with a fresh account that spammed the forums to 50 posts.

What i said above was exactly right.

Mate that is a simple recipe to get ripped off and honestly if you follow my advice above - you will not get ripped off.

I can tell you now what you think you are doing right, is not working. If you can't see that after being ripped off 3 times then there is a fair chance it'll keep happening.

You have the business details - you can at least pursue to get your money back in the event something like that happens.

It's not like some dummy bank account opened and closed with fake ID's and so on.

There is much more protection and chance for recourse

Because i'm not obliged too and its against user privacy. At this stage its one persons word against another and nothing more.

Until i am contact by a Police Officer officially as part of an investigation - i do not give out IP's.
