came across a brand new garrett t3/t67 on ebay for $725.00 us. the honda guys have made plus 600 hp on this turbo, they claim its spools just as fast as a gt35. the turbo is t3 based with a .63 a/r and stage 5 wheel turbine the compressor uses the 67mm found on the t04r. Any information with regards to this turbo's performance on the rb25det will be appreciated. also how would it compare to the greddy td07 67mm

I believe what Turbonetics call the "Stage 5" turbine is a Garrett T350 and its a little smaller in diameter than the T04 series turbine . I think "Stage" 1/2/3 are TB31 turbines .

Garrett initially teamed that "R" compressor , which is a T series BTW not a later GT series wheel , with their T04 turbine for the HKS spec T04R turbo and the turbine was cropped a little on the leading edges for a little less restriction .

In time it grew a modified large frame all bearing center section (pinched from the BB T51R) and became the T04Z or BB T04R effectively . HKS uses their custom optimized turbine and compressor housings on the same cartridge as the Garrett marketed T04Z .

I don't know about this point in time but a T04Z through Garrett was initially quite cheap - for a large frame BB turbo - so I'd ask about those first . Garrett also do a T04/60-1 BB unit that looks exactly the same as their T04Z and the only difference is the 60-1 compressor wheel .

For the money your talking about I doubt you'll get any technical excellence unless someone is virtually giving it away second hand . Maybe you are better off looking for a bolt on plain bearing Hi Flow that actually works . At least that way you aren't spending bucket loads fitting some bitzer thing and having to revert back if it doesn't work .

Removing and replacing turbos is not fun and if you pull it back off and go inside it to change things you've spent modern turbo money .

Can't often do it on the cheap , cheers Adrian .

honda guys in florida are making plus 600hp with this turbo, so if obviously makes power, my question is how laggy would this turbo be on a rb25det, the honda camp claims it spools just as fast as a sc61,

    • If I get a larger battery and it hangs off the edge of the frame rail, would this be an issue? With FMIC a lot of people downgrade their battery size due to less room for shit, was wondering if it would affect anything but it would still be tight via the clamp.
    • Yeah, the E34 touring is like hens teeth.  This one is really nice, she's a touch rough but we'll get there. Horrible, broken key buttons were irritating me so I bought some replacement buttons and new batteries. The pic makes them look gross still but it is such a difference. I accidentally broke a little bit of the new button on one of them by using a pick to get it in place. Super good service by the guys at Remote Pro who offer free shipping regardless of order. Hats off to them.
    • My R32 is about 1300kg. There's your 500kg right there. I've stated before that I hate all modern cars. The fact that something the size of a Corolla is typically 1.5 ton these days is sickening. Should be 900kg like in the old days. What the f**k are modern materials for?
    • Ah right that makes sense.
    • Stock R33 except for suspension, tyres, brakes, and seats is a great ride. Get that power up around the 200mark, and it's great and reliable.
