Which car at any one moment can produce the most seat sticking G force at one moment? And I mean backward sucking force, not sideways.

For daily driving, this what I enjoy most. A good, strong, sudden squirt. Rather than the potential to travel at high speeds, a quick 0-100 or handling.

I've heard S13s are quite good at this due to their power to weight ratio and their more "aggressive" boost, whereas a Skyline tends to have a more spread power curve. Is this true?

What other cars are good at this? Evos, WRXs?

Just curious more than anything, but definitely something I'll consider when off my P's.

shitload of power. light car. and enough grip to get it off the line quick enough. AWDs are synonymous for the feeling you have described. they have enough grip to jump out with urgency, reasonably light and the jap AWD variety aren't too $$$ to make the necessary power.

i have a friend with just under 300kw at the rear in a S15 silvia. great car. intense in gear. but off the launch its hopeless. tyres/camber/suspension/lots of practice has to be perfect to get it off the line with intense G Force.

of course more $$$ machines will do it but i take it you are talking street legal/driveable?

I'm not referring to just launches (although this is probably where most G's are felt). What I mean is if I've accelerated slowly off the lights up to 20-60kph then decide to stomp it which car has the most rapid acceleration at that point.

Yeah, I mean street legal.

you need somthing with instant response & TORQUE then, no point havng 11ty billion killerwasps in a car if its laggy, somthing like a rb25det with a hks 2530 on it.

The dyno numbers wont impress anyone but it will be savage on the street.

An EVO (stock) is good in the first couple of gears, after that it kinda dies down a bit, not that impressive.

A Supra in TTC mode with a few mods can give *extreme* boost hits once you hit 2500-3000rpm, but very bad for traction. Think in-gear, 3rd gear wheelspin, 18 psi, on 295's, no probs ;)

An R34 GTR with stock (or close) turbos gives a decent boost hit but you have AWD to take care of the traction issues!

If you want instant torque from down low, obviously a supercharged V8, or maybe a Supra in sequential mode with high(er) boost is the way to go!

It sounds to me like you're after big midrange torque. A turbo is perfect for this. A V8 has big torque everywhere but because of this it may feel "flatter" and not as quick. That's why Supras in TTC mode often *feel* quicker than SEQ mode but really aren't, because the area under the curve is less, plus when you hit that boost you just get wheelspin. But dayem, it's fun to drive!! :happy:

Something light with a medium sized turbo (in relation to the engine capacity) would be the best bet for what I'm looking for in a daily driver?. So that if I want sudden, massive acceleration (whilst already moving) all I have to do is drop a gear or two, hit boost and wrestle the road for traction?

Any light RWD turbo car can achieve this with the right set up, tune and tyres. Whether it be a Silvia, Skyline, Supra or whatever?

To answer my own question: the highest G's would be achieved by a worked sti, or Evo launching hard, or a lightweight car with a monster turbo (like a T88 on a Supra) finally coming onto boost, but for the most responsive hard acceleration you simply want big engine capacity, ie V8s.

Did I get that all right?

i know what you mean about the power curve on a standard skyline, gtst's- r32's give you more of a hit when you come on boost, r33 and r34's dont give you as much of a punch but if yu take out that 5psi until X rpm out of the equation and have it on 7psi or wind it up a little bit they can be quite punchy, just keep the standard cooler or use an r34 gtt cooler until you actually need a bigger one because with low boost, smaller turbo and a big fmic you will notice the response difference between the smic and a fmic

Street wise - Friend of mine, Evo 9. Upgraded turbo, usual other mods, bit shy of 300awkw from memory...

I have not been in a more savage car. Simple as that. The launches and response is second to none.

Even with the stock turbo (it was making what, 230awkw @ the time)

I've been in cars from 1000kg's to 600rwkw GTR's... Nothing compares as it pins you to the seat hard everytime.

A HSV WH Grange with the 300kw engine has some ridiculous torque at around the 60-80kph speed...

My dad has stomped on it moving onto a highway onramp,

I got sucked back into the seat and saw 140kph very quickly! It just squats and takes off no traction issues at all!

Its very quick from lights aswell.... at the time of production, although being the heaviest HSV it was also the 2nd quickest in the fleet, second only to the GTS

The auto gearbox on the grange has alot to do with it tho.... especially quick with shifting through the gears very fast!

How much cash do you have to spend? I can't see many 'just off their P's' guys being able to afford a 300awkw evo 9 lol. Although wouldn't it be nice!!

I reckon if you don't wanna spend heaps n heaps of cash for something nice n fast, do what i did and get a bike :)

And that's a 600. If you really have really big nuts jump on a thou :)

      So I've been working on the car a fair bit, doing a lot of little things. Preparing some projects for this winter, as I'm taking 13 weeks off very soon for parental leave. Have my second kid on the way and he's due any week now. I'll need something to do while he's sleeping. I also usually take the car off the road in about a month and a half, until sometime around the end of March.  Still making slight adjustments to my tune, as the cold weather settles in. I've also had to start dropping boost and tire pressure as the weather gets cooler. It's getting very swirly at highway speeds. I drop to 20psi at 20C and 18psi spring pressure at 10C IAT's. I'm currently on 255 Falcon RT660's, but may look into running 275's next summer. They will fit, but barely. Might have to raise the rear a tad.  I'll start redoing my exhaust Monday, as I have the week off. I currently have an oval center muffler and cannon rear muffler. I've been told more then once from people behind me that my rear bumper is going to catch on fire one day. Seems I blow 5-10 second flames after doing a pull. No clue if that's the WMI, as I've never been able to do that before with other cars. I wanted to angle my tip down a tad so flames are pointed down and away from bumper. I also wanted to take the opportunity to reconfigure my exhaust line. I'm going to move my oval muffler to the rear with a pie cut angled tip and put in a new smaller round muffler in the center. I've rocked cannon mufflers on this car for the last few years and want to transition back the oval muffler look. I've also been looking for a stainless project to try out the new solar flux I bought. I'll post pictures on Monday, should be able to wrap that up in a day.  I'm also picking up another rear subframe this week. I wanted a second so that I could modify one with a gk tech anti squat reduction kit during the winter, and still be able to keep the car a roller so I can back it out of the garage if needed. I will also be caging it this winter. More on that later. Lastly, Speedtek still hasn't given me diddly squat. Every week for the last 4 weeks, they have been saying next week. They told me Friday to expect a shipping label that day to ship my two bad sets of ring and pinions back and nothing. There's definitely been more contact since I started destroying their company any chance I get on Facebook, but it's still just words without action.

      Have you done a pressure test on your intake/piping? Cleaned your IACV and Cold start valve?

      i was thinking that the 2 wires that go to the sub from factory has some sort of preamp like you mentioned and also a lo Pass filter to get just bass. now that will only use 1 channel and that really should be all i need for a sub? if i was trying to put a set of speakers in the back i can understand cutting into the left and right speaker wires. i will try how im talking about doing it and if that is crap i will do it the way of all wires. thanks for the input guys.

      Challenging mig welding thin Aluminium pipe and trying to fit it in, having to bend and twist, but got there in the end. Fits really well and can easily get a socket wrench in there now to put it on/off. I'm in the middle of another project, so haven't installed the suction pipe yet. I'll post some pictures and results when i do.
