I am gonna be looking at this dr30 skyline on tuesday. Guy wants 9.5 with no compliance and 10.5 k complied and reg.

The paint looks pretty good but the engine looks like its done 250,000kms plus.

What do you guys think? How much would you pay?

Only thing is i don't wanna not buy it only to find that i cant find another dr30 coupe for like a year or something, i know these are fairly rare now.

Cheers.

You're right, there are fewer of these every year, but in saying that, how much are you willing to pay to have something that you really want? Are you prepared to pay for the troubles and associated costs that a nostalgic vehicle like this brings?

Buy this and you'll probably wonder why you did when the repair bills start to come in. But if you really want it, buy it. The answer to the question lies with you alone. Many people will call you mad, and the rest will say that it's a cool car because of the rarity. Who knows, in a the years to come they may be up there with the KPGC10.

Personally I wouldn't do it, but as I said, it depends on how much YOU want it.

Good luck with it though man.

I guess I really just have to have a good look at it. I was just wondering what people thought of the car i guess, if the price is around what it should be for one of these. I have done some searching but people seem to bring up figures like 5-7k max so i'm a little unsure how much its worth.

But yeah your right, as soon as stuff starts going wrong i'll more then likely regret buying it, especially since fj20's are gonna be hard to get parts for.

Not old enough to be a classic, not new enough to be fast. that's my opinion on the matter. (im' not a fan of that blue either)

Of course, if your buying it your buying it because its a model of skyline you like, so you probably won't be dissapionted by the result.

that looks more trouble than its worth to be honest , i noticed uneven gap around door not shuting ok , might just need adjustment but it might been smashed and then done in blue.

engine looks bad but i guess with but cleanup would be looking mint but what about wear and tear.

as R31Nismoid check with importers and you will be better off.

on another note its your cash and if you want to get that car then go for it we are just stating the obvious and our opinions

cheers

To import one it'll cost around 4-6k to it, then just ad the shipping, stamp duty and compliance so around the same price anyways.

Mad082: If you could let your mate no someone is interested in buying it maybe he'll think of selling  , for the right price ofcourse. I don't mind paying the dough just as long as its a good example of one.

  • 2 weeks later...

seems everyone selling an old nissan/datsun these days is jumping on the expensive bandwagon :D

These are getting rare, and the front on this is even rarer (iron face, or something they call it?)

If you were going to restore and sit on it for a while, might be worth it as a future collectible, but it'd be a fair gamble
