hey guys hows it going..long time member first time 'newtopic' the deal is i bought a pretty exspensive ecedy clutch kit and fly wheel last year.. i had a heaps of money and asked the guy i want the best clutch u can get for the street so he got me and Exedy cermic button one with a exedy lightweight flywheel and i changed my fork and pivot and also bearing housing in the box.. so everything was knew to do with the assy and also had the master and slave rebuilt with stainless tubing...just wondering if it cood just be that some water has gotten in the whole in the side of my gear box?? there is a big whole in the side from the pervious clutch exploding bolts..because this clutch shouldnt be slipping.. ive got 300rkw and this thing is rated to like heaps!! any help would fine, thankyou heaps..sorry about this rambling on but i am just really anxious ive wasted all that money...

If you've been daily driving the button clutch, as suggested above, you will burn out the material quickly. It's made to grab and that's it. You slip it too much and you'll wear it out as fast as a standard clutch.

if its a unpsrung hub you shouldnt be driving daily, best for racing

a light flywheel, = more slipping to get moving on hills from standstill, wearing the clutch faster

riding the clutch pedal,,,even the slightest bit on the pedal will kill the clutch/throw out bearing

out of alignment /bolt torque not even will kill the clutch

oil on the plate = failure. water on the plate will warp it

oily hand prints will hot spot it ending in failure

hope this helps a bit ?

    • G'day all, I have drilled and tapped the hole for the relocation of the timing belt tensioner. That was straight forward. I'm unsure if I need to also put another hole for the smaller stud that the spring behind the tensioner catches on (this is how it seems to work in its original spot). Or do you not use the spring behind it and just torque it down? Thanks in advance, I did a search but couldn't find anything related and it doesn't mention it in the rb30det sau guide.
    • Hi All,  just thought I would provide an update as I know smooth (Matt) was on this forum from 2003.    my brother Matthew passed away end of may 2024 at the age of 41 from liver failure. I am not sure how many of his original team krazy friends are still on here or active but thought it reasonable to let the forum know.    if you have any photos or pictures it would be great if you could share them.    it took me a while to work out he was active on here.    thanks so much

    • 😜 hopefully we get this instead of a new R36 GTR due to recent financial problems at Nissan. Nismo to sell a complete kit with RB26 and driveline. All starts making sense (ok maybe not) once the Nissan Leaf's (Leaves?) with stuffed EV motors/batteries hit the market cheap
