got my kit today

quailty wise the kit looks good, all threads are correct

but one thing i dont understand with the kit is the banjo bolts that it came with,

the holes are a lot smaller, mainly the oil ones, the stock one has a hole of bout 6-7mm and the one that came with the kit is boit 2mm like a pin hole,

should i use the stock banjos??

or are they some sort of restrictor??

n mr kotter if you have ever taken off or put on rb26 turbos you know it can be a flamin mongrel, not only dose it look better but it make turbo removal alot easier :)

The standard connections are all hard pipes, except for the oil drains. So braid is wank unless you want eye candy.

or you dont have any of the original lines, which is why im interested

Do Ball bearing turbo require less oil, therefore smaller banjos should be used as oil restrictors?

I am about to upgrade to ball bearing turbos and am looking at the same oil and water line kits, but just wondering if people have used the smaller banjos.

I have read that if you use the original larger ones it could cause the turbo to leak oil.

Any opinions?

So it sounds like the banjo that came with the kit is a restricor. So this is what should be used for upgraded ball bearing turbos instead of the standard 6mm banjo bolts?

Hey Ali,

No didn't get anything further on this, however I purchased the same kit, looked at some others and spoke to a couple of people and it looks like the smaller banjo acts a restrictor.

But I was thinking to use the same banjo and put a restrictor from, which I think are about $15 each. These screw to the cartridge and then the lines in the kit should be able to screw to the restrictor (this is from the pics I have seen).

Either way I wouldn't just rely on the restrictor built into the turbo cartridge. It might be an idea to put an additional one on. The turbo will still be fed sufficient oil.
