he (and Toshi in Sydney) remap R33's and 34s ... bit different to Nistune. I believe Nistune is more adjustable ..works with bigger injectors etc where as "remap" is only AFRs and ingition timing adjustments..

Remaps can handle bigger injectors, afm's etc.

My RB30DET was running a remap with z32 afm and 550cc injectors.

The difference is that Nistune is live tunable via the consult port, whereas a remap is tuned with a romulator (usually) and then a new EEPROM is burnt.

No actually the remap stuff is done live also. Dr Drift developed the system to be able to do this.

Has been doing it long before Nistune even existed

speaking of consult ..anyone know any nice programs to use ? I'm getting my consult cable today ..can't wait to see all the sensor data and crap :) Speaking of which, is there perhaps a summary of correct sensor voltages anywhere ?? eg. I wanna make sure my AFM, knock sensor etc are operating normally

Sorry, maybe live was the wrong choice of word. I meant that remapping (at least how mine was done), is they solder a cradle where the old EEPROM was (I did this myself, saved a bit of coin) and use a romulator (chip with a cable) to tune, once happy with the tune they burn the maps to another EEPROM and chuck it in.

Nistune is tunable through the consult port, you don't need to open it up and remove chips.

I use Datascan on my carpc, cost about $35 from plmsdevelopments.

The nistune guys REALLY need to get onto the R33 gtst computer. My thoughts is that if they don't have it ready by now they never will, must not be possible.

I thought it was, but the boards were very expensive?

both false.

No aftermarket computer is legal in South Australia

After market lines are fine.

Im using a Z32 ecu on my R33 GTST S1, only thing needed to be done was to change the order of the injector cables, that and joining 2 wires into 1 for the AFM signal, since the Z32 has 2, easy as pie

I've been running stock S1 turbo, 3" full exhaust, HKS airfilter+piping, FMIC etc etc and done the tuning myself, i couldnt be happier. Also since i have an aftermarket thermostat that opens at 70 degrees i changed the enrichment per temperature and so on to match the mods of the car.

AFR 15.2 at low load for fuel economy, 13.5 when turbo starts boosting and 12.2-12.5 on full load/higher revs. Havent had tme to get it dynoed yet but way better then stock :P

I think you'll be very happy with nistune!

EDIT:

Why i went with the Z32 ecu instead of the RB20 is that the rb20 doesnt support VCT, the Z32 does.

Nothing available for R33 yet, as far as I was aware it is plug and play with a 20 ecu, its just that you loose the variable valve timing, but I think its only series 1 that might be plug and play as series 2 has the ignitor in the ecu where the Rb20 does not.

oh god, not that again. the r33 series 2 ecu does NOT have the ignitor built into it. it is built into the coils. that is why you can't run s1 coils in a s2 and vice versa, yet you can run a s1 ecu in a s2 and vice versa.

i use ecutalk. i also have datascan and scantech but find ecutalk the easiest as far as just displaying info goes. the others have the the diagnostic tests though. it's always fun driving along then switching off a cylinder, LOL

We have been doing quite a few epa cars latley with nistune (Nistune is the easiest and IMO the best EPA option) BUT a competant tuner can get a microtech through the epa polution process aswell (it is difficult though). I just did a FC rx7 with a microtech and even without the air pump passed its emmisions test.

$655 with Nistune fitted for R33

http://www.k-tune.com.au/Parts_For_Sale.ews

I doubt it is re-pinned internally you still need to swap the 10 or so wires in the connector :D
