Hi All,

The Tuners Group is very proud to announce the availability of a brand new quick release from Works Bell, the Rapfix QRS ...

large1059.jpeg

Following on from the massive success of the world reknowned Rapfix II, the brand new Rapfix QRS was announced today by Works Bell in Tokyo.

Like all Works Bell's other world class high quality quick releases, the Rapfix QRS is manufactured in Japan with true Japanese machining precision.

The Rapfix QRS consists of two parts as shown above:

- the steering plate which you attach to your steering wheel

- the Rapfix QRS body which is attached to your steering boss kit.

Incredibly compact - Just 25 mm thick

For some other companies, it is near impossible to achieve the goal of designing a quick release that features easy operation with no shakiness or play.

However, the Works Bell Rapfix QRS achieves these goals by utilizing the lever, cover and ball lock system.

In addition, it allows the driver to maintain a comfortable seating position due to it’s very compact low profile design with a thickness of just approx 25mm (1 inch) !

Two foldable levers are designed to make the turning of the cover simple. It is also a safety device because the cover cannot be turned without moving the lever.

Steering Wheel & Hub / Boss Kit Compatibility

There is no welding required to fit a Works Bell Rapfix QRS Quick Release to your car - it is strictly a bolt on product with no welding required.

At the steering wheel end, the Rapfix QRS ships pre-machined with bolt holes in both standard 6 bolt Momo bolt pattern steering (PCD 70mm), and 6 bolt Nardi bolt pattern (PCD 74mm), so it is compatible with a very wide range of steering wheels from a number of manufacturers including Works Bell, Momo, Nardi, Personal, OMP etc.

The part of the Rapfix QRS that attaches to the steering boss / hub has a 6 bolt (PCD 70mm) bolt pattern, the same bolt pattern as used on Momo steering bosses / hubs.

We can supply a steering boss kit / hub to suit for almost any vehicle - please see the steering hubs / boss kits section of our website and contact us if a boss for your car is not listed.

Alternatively, if you already have a 6 bolt Nardi bolt pattern steering boss / hub (PCD 74mm), then the part of the Rapfix QRS that attaches to the steering boss / hub can be attached to many compatible 6 bolt Nardi bolt pattern steering bosses / hubs, by using the Works Bell Conversion Spacer.

This might sound like a bit of a silly question - but with the legality issues of running a non-airbag steering wheel on a car that came with one from the factory - are there any options for using a factory / airbag equipped wheel with a quick-release system?

are there any options for using a factory / airbag equipped wheel with a quick-release system?

Virtually every car uses a different method for mounting the factory airbag steering wheel, so there is no commercially available system that I know of to use a factory airbag steering wheel with a quick release.

Do these work with the horn connected? or Do you need to disconnect the horn wire before removing?

Yes the horn still works.

As it says on our website at ...

http://www.tunersgroup.com/Online_Store/Rapfix_QRS.html ...

Your horn still works

The electrode installed in the plate and Rapfix QRS body, when aligned together in the “attached” position allows full operation of the horn button.

The electrical connections for the horn in the Rapfix QRS automatically engage when the steering wheel is attached.

The part on the right in the photo above is bolted to your steering wheel, and the red wire is connected to your horn button on your steering wheel. If you have a look at the part on the left of the photo above, at the lower left centre you can see a copper electrical contact. That contact automatically engages with the part attached to the steering wheel, so the horn still works.

    • The best part of my setup is, we only have two sites. Our head office where I'd put every thing has plenty of internet capacity. We're on a 200/200 dedicated fibre. Even better, there's only like 6 people in the office at most, and the other office has 2 people in it (likely 3 soon). The majority of our work is in a custom piece of software, as it is part of the backend of the system we provide to customers. For our arrangement, on prem would be wayyyyy easier, and a VPN tunnel site to site is easy for me to manage. Scaled at many many sites, or quite a few hundred employees it's starts getting a bit different for all people outside the head office. However, everything in the cloud becomes worse for the people who operated previously at the site that held the servers, as now they're at the mercy of their internet, and not GBPS internal network (f**k the idiots who hook a desktop PC up on WiFi or permanently sit at a desk using a laptop and don't go remotely with it).   It really does come down to the business needs and structure as to what is best. For us, 365 is mainly being moved to for office apps, moving email from Google to Exchange, and setting up "Active directory". Otherwise we have a ticketing system with support that runs on our own cloud system, or the sales process sits in a CRM we pay for. My biggest push back for having most of the shit turned off and saying no when people want new shiney things is "that won't meet our security requirements, or efficiency gains, so all you're requesting is money spend to open us up to security issues, or to make our staff less efficient" Which is funny when one of our core values is "To do more, with less"
    • Think of it as a fancy iFrame with the auth passed through to PowerBI as you're already authenticated logged into Teams   I'm the complete opposite, I hate everything on Prem, it's slow as shit, you need VPNs to get anything happening, then when you want on-prem DBs to talk to say PowerBI you need to install/setup data gateways to essentially VPN back into your SQL instance. I suppose from my perspective, on-prem sucks, but from an infrastructure perspective, your environment is somewhat air gapped to the web via your firewall(s), etc.   The curse of knowledge, the more you know the more you suffer. Farken philosophical shit.
    • Would you mind uploading the pics again in your steps?  It’s not showing up.
    • Wherever you ask them to. I had one added to the crossover pipe near the BOV as well as the hot and cold sides of the intercooler piping to provide greatest flexibility in measuring temperatures post-turbo. I have the IAT installed in one, and bungs in the other two.
