I have ust applied for a job in the United Arab Emirates.

Anyone been there, can you give me some feedback on what it is like etc etc. I havent really heard a lot about the place outside the usual.

Its a great job, good money... and i have read the modded car scene over there is crazy, with big HP GTRs, German exoitcs and those italian jobbies.

It cant be any worse the the mountains of Indonesia...can it?

Sadly, I imagine its better then the nightlife in windsor!

If it sucks then thats cool gives me less to spend my money on. You havent lived until you have gone clubbing in Bandung Indonesia baby. After those experiences im sure ill be happy anywhere.

One of my dads mates is a manager of a big hotel in UAE.

Oil & gas work... Fingers crossed it will build on the 18months experience i already have in that area. Hopefully put me in a better position to be working on an oil rig in the North Sea in about 18-24months time (or earlier if i get lucky)

u r gonna miss home after awhile and your car, coz i am being up in cairns for work up and back for the last 7 months.

Yes and no, you get so busy with work, and seeing the sites and enjoying travellyng/living somewhere different, you dont really miss home... friends and family yes, but not Sydney or my car.

I worked in Indonesia in 2002 and was a great experience... looking forward to another change.

I should know by mid Jan, so far so good though.

Its surprising of the 7 jobs i have applied for only one has ben in Sydney (150mtr from Eastern Creek actually) and the other in wollongong, all the work seems to be interstate/OS.
