eveyone is telling me to do up the engine first and leave my looks stock, but i dnt see the point since i have an R34 25GT N/A and on my P's.

I think i should use my money on making my car look nice and have a crazy sound unit inside

What do u guys think?

Open to all opinions.

Firstly im a P plater myself and the boys in blue will pull you over for driving a skyline as they think all of us are hoons, they will check out your engine and if it is modded, you will get defected. Best spending your money on handling such as better suspension, brakes, tyres etc.. which is what i done.

Depends what you're after. If you want little 16-17yr old girls throwing their g-strings at you get some good quality rims (not china) with a nice stereo, very few girls know anything mechanical and under the bonnet doesn't impress them. There's not much to do aesthically, the r34 looks nice in stock form imo, just needs to be dropped with some good wheels.

If you want the car to be more enjoyable to drive, mick2nv hit the nail on the head, get the hard turning quicker (ie suspension/tyres) and stopping harder (brakes/tyres). I wouldn't go the engine mod path yet, the bang for buck just isn't there. Get a good catback so it sounds nice but thats as far as i would go with it. Much better off to wait till the p's are over then bolting a turbo on the side and since you would have the suspension/brakes sorted it should be a good package.

Either way, just dont go out and bolt on 20in china wheels, dropped with cut springs and "ice it" with a $99 pioneer 12inch sub running off a boss audio amp with stock nissan speakers.

+1

All three, but not OTT.

Engine wise its not worth pouring dollars into. Just intake/exhaust maybe - get the air/gases flowing through high flow panel/pod filter, extractors, high flow cat and catback if you're after a little bit more go.

Exterior stock does look fine. As said, rims, lowered and its fine. Go a kit if you want it to look a little tougher or differentiate it from the other 34's getting around.

Interior - leatherette seats (seen them in group buys on here that looked alright), gauges, or as you said, sound system. I guess if you have some big subs in the boot weighing it down, you'll have excuse for the slowness of our NA's :bunny:

haha yeh im getting a set off my friend, 4 speakers and 2subs, hope it sounds good and doesnt blow.

Yeh i kinda got an idea now, but say i wanna get a kit, mine a grey sedan r34 know any sales that would go good on it??

And how much is it too respray kits?

im a 18yr old p plater got a non turbo 33. 98 modle. what ive done is just suspention rims 9inch tyres so its sits well some sways and coilovers, all the handling stuff and i also got myself a custom exhurst and a set of extracters made up and hes working a treat, sounds and looks awesome

goodluck

Do Up Interior, Exterior Or Engine?, what would u do if you are on your p's?

None of the above. I'd save up money so I can sell it and buy a fast car when I get off my P's. But that's just me. I like driving fast cars fast.

It depends on your priorities. If you don't care about how fast your car goes then, by all means, rice up the vehicle. I wouldn't throw money into a car I wasn't planning on keeping for a while.

If you don't mind going slow then stick with your 25GT. Do the suspension to clean up the handling a bit, and use your money get it to look and feel the way you want it to.

If you're planning on selling the car when you get off your P's then I wouldn't bother doing anything at all. It's money you won't be getting back and money you wouldn't be getting good value from.

I am a P plater aswell, own a 96' R33 GTS4. My car is mostly stock except the wheels, sound system and...an exhaust I have sitting here waiting to put on haha. Since we are very restricted on what we can do I believe it all comes down to what you want to do in the future. If your going to keep the car and wack in a turbo later then start off with the suspension and handling. I'm not planning to go through that phase but instead I am going on the saving route haha and hopefully can afford a GTR once I hit my full lisence. With that being said, you can always do things to your car and then take them out and put them into your new car.

Like I said, it all comes down to your plans on the future with the car, you don't want to spend a crap load of money in the end and expect to sell it in 2 or 3 years and get it all back, it will turn into dead money. So yes, first plan the cars future before starting to work on it :)

How much are your prepared to spend?

What are you looking for? Bling or Race spec?

Suspension is a must!

If not coilovers.. a good set of spring and shokies will go a long way!

A good seat if your going racing..

A light set of rims too.

All depends on how much your willing to spend..

i'm with everyone else, suspension and handling first, especially if you're planning to turbo the car later down the track.

get some:

decent adjustable coilovers/shocks and springs

wider lightweight rims + decent tyres

thicker sway bars

slotted rotors

decent pads

braided brake lines (or at least new lines)

Nah i'm not gonna turbo the car up later because, it still wont be as fast as the GTR.

so i'm probably just gonna leave it until i'm off my p's and just sell it

the thing i'm probably gonna do is the sound system and maybe a kit :/

thanks for all opinions :P

best way to do it less mucking around and my be the cheaper alternative, i say do the basics to improve handling, looks and sound then save up for when you come off your p's and go turb's, revert your current car back to stock and put all the other things into the new car if you go a r34GTT that is! Good luck with it mate

as long as its your way mate there's no right or wrong answers. Steer clear of engine mods while your on your p's to avoid defects, but also keep in mind if your selling later on what will make it sellable later on.

Ie do the basics like suspension, brakes, wheels, zorst. Stereo and kits are great but becareful you dont get too committed and throw bulk dollars at the temporary ride (eg keep it tame).

I've got a 34 N/A, had it for about a year and a half, and have a year n a half til I get off my P's, I've just done things I can take off when I sell it as I plan to a few weeks before I get off my P's to buy a GTT or 32R. If I get the GTT most things from my car will fit onto that, rims bodykit etc. and I've kept the stock ones to put back on when I sell it.
