Interior: Ive brought back stock interior because its so comfortable and the only thing that isn't stock on the interior is the gear knob. Probably keep it stock as its a street car and the best thing is cruising around in comfort.

Exterior: This is obviously the best way to do it seeing as its not that expensive. Get a bodykit for $800 get it prepped and fitted for usually $1800 (good job), HID kit, nismo smoked indicators and good set of rims (mono block build) probably looking at $4000-$5000 all up.

Sound: Its up to you there are rampage set up which are about $750 for a CD player 4 spearkers a amp and a sub ( HAHA dont bother) or get decent sound. i spent $3000 on double din, 4 speakers and a amp . Thats it

Handling: Probably the smartest to do as it might save your life and your cars. There are lots of parts to look into here. If you get a GTS-4 it is basically all done for you, i have one and im pulling about 137kw at all 4 at the moment and its perfect because its built to handle GTR power. If you want the GTS then also think about getting KYB shocks and TEIN springs, Its about 1500-2000 (same as coilovers) and much better handling as a proper set of coilovers are +15000 no joke (check the suspension forums)

Engine: Ive been pulled over 3 times this week and only have a pod filter 1\3 told me to take it off and its encased. Some cops are awesome some are strict. Probably best to stay away from this as i have made my skyline a rb27de the cops cant see this. Exhaust systems is always fun

With exterior, sound and handling you could spend $15,000 no problem so there is something to consider and keep you busy not worrying about the engine.

I'm getting my R34 N/A in couple of weeks. im 18 on Red P's.

My plans are to get rims, stero system, body kit etc.

Anything that isnt changing performance of the car, i dont want to much cop attention at this point in time.

After i hit Green p's in few months, i will do exhaust, extractors, pod filter (enclosed of coarse  ) etc.

If i were you, i would have the same approach as cops will find it harder to defect you if you havn't changed the preformance of the car. But i suppose at the end of the day, its your choice.

Hope this helped.

Your expectation is that big, shiny, wheels, thumping doof-doof, and a bodykit will turn the heads of the ladies but not the boys in blue?

I suppose you have a good point about the cop attention, the main point i was trying to get across, is that they will find it harder to defect you of non preformance parts, as far as im aware, i may be wrong, feel free to correct me on anything.

as you are aware, i am very new here, just trying to help the guy with the knowledge i have.

The peacock feathers and mating calls will grab their attention, but chances are they won't book you for something that's not mechanical. You'll probably just find yourself getting "randomly" breath tested a lot.

When they hear your car is so quiet, and not decked, they will probably just stick to making sure the tyres have legal tread. If you've got the big stereo cranked they might bust you for noise if you've been a tool, but chances are the bonnet won't get opened unless they're really wanting to find an excuse.

If you want to avoid any attention then leave the car stockish, especially on the outside. If you are happy with a bit of attention but want to avoid getting defected then your plan should be good enough.

I think his plans are to get turbo later on see he is best off saving that 15g'z for his next car lol

don't bother with the engine the poilce will have a field day with your car...and theres no point letting em enjoy a day on the job. make the ride look sweet and good quality thumping music is always good:)

I had to talk to the highway patrol for about 15min just about having a pod filter on my car and being on my P's.........its enclosed EXTREMELY well but he just didn't care. Highway patrol are different to undercovers and your everyday cops, i have never had a problem with the other two about anything on my car but highway patrol give me hell.

HAHA narrr, its my everyday car interior is already done and sound. The body is half way to being done but i have only done the RB27DE to my engine so i can still save that money and get a turbo for a weekend car :D

Once that's done i can only do handling and engine and the handling is awesome so if all goes to plan ill be spending $12000 on parts and do the labor myself as it shouldn't be as hard as the rebuild.

You reckon i can see the interior retrim? I want to get a new spring+shock setup in my car, still deciding what to get though haha, any suggestions, I want to lower it a bit aswell, im thinking about 2 inches dropped all around, does that sound good or would it be too much?

i had a meeting to go to about the new lowering laws that talks about engineer slips (had to go because work said it was compulsory). You need one now or the cops will fine you.

Best get shocks as coilovers that are $2000 and under are actually extremely cheap. They tend to bend and even though they are a Mono build they are usually 10kg at front and 8kg at rear, which is way to much even for track! They make the shocks stiffer to compensate for cheap parts they use to hide the problem (a good set cost 6000+, check with the suspension forums as they constantly talk about what are the worst ones that break. One guy has $22000 racing coilovers so $2000 or less is obviously missing something)

KYB are japans most popular shock and they can be taken to a suspension shop and modified for aussie roads.

TEIN springs are value for money and go on KYB's as a good set up.

Get a quote on KYB's from Supercheap, Autopro ETC ETC and they will be awesome for the street use.

Ill get pics of my clean boring stock interior tomorrow.....

Don't you only need a certficate if you lower it more than 50mm? That's what I read anyway...don't the shock and the spring need to match rates and stuff? Or is that what you meant by taking it to a suspension shop and getting the shocks modified lol?

GTS-4's are so confusing with suspension

its GTR at the front

GTST at the rear.......i think

The law has been put off for now so you should get it as soon as possible, r33 springs suit r33 shocks? the springs will have a rating as to how stiff they are but they will fit the shock fine.

The suspension shops modify it so it suits our roads better (dont know what they do but they basically make it for our roads that are super bumpy compared to japan)

Ok sounds good..so I shall be looking for the front setup to suit a GTR and the back to suit a GTS/GTST. I'll go aroundm and get prices for some KYB shock and TEIN springs. Any other brands you guys reccomend apart from these two?

What price am I looking at for this setup?

Cheers.

KYB

Bilstein

They would be the three shock brands that are value for money and they work.

Skyline R33 (HR33) Coupe 4WD

GTR 08.93- 02.98 B46-2107 F S A B46-2108 F S G

Bilstein say its the same as as GTR so im not sure what to look for......GTR or GTR front GTST\GTS rear. I sent a pm too sydneykid so ill get back to you with a answer on what to ask for at the shops.

Hi Andrew, the fronts will fit, but I'm not sure about the rears. It's been a while since I was under an R33GTS4, from memory they have the bush on the rear shock bottom, not the fork like an R33GTR. Easy to tell just stick you head under the rerar bumper and have a look.

I seem to remember from the Group Buy kits that on R33GTS4's I used R32GTR front shocks and springs with R33GTST rear springs and shocks. When I did the original testing, the R33GTR springs and shocks were far to heavy for the R33GTS4 as they don't have the weight of the extra turbo stuff in the front.

I also recall that R33GTS4's don't have rear swaybars and from memory the front swaybar is very small. I strongly suggest you have a look at upgrading the swaybars as they will give you the best dollar value handling up grade.

Cheers

GTR front

GTST rear

your going to have to get the shocks adjusted to suit it aswell

Get a price of shocks

Get a price of springs

Getting them fitted and tuned for a GTS-4

pricey :D

try,

Supercheap

Autopro

Repco

Autobarn

Bersons

Fulcrum suspention is the supplier for supercheap, dont know about the other companies

I wont post the list up here because its huge but go to http://www.fulcrumsuspensions.com.au/tein-...butors.html#nsw

that give you every single TEIN distributor in NSW

you dont need TEIN springs remember you have a wide selection when you go to the shops, ask them what brands are available and write down every brand and price they give you. Call the TEIN distributors and see how cheap they are, i know Supercheap gets there TEIN products directly from Fulcrum.

use those 5 shops and a list of all shocks and springs available from each and you will have good ideas of the money you can spend before what you want.

So i put the old one on till i can get a sticker and put the new one on again. (it seriously wont peal off)
