Best Hitachi Turbo Replacement?

Hi Guys, i'm new here.

Can annyone say from what type of Skyline this turbo is?

I think its from a R32 with RB20DET engine, but i'm not sure.

I know its a ball bearing Hitachi turbo with ceramic turbine wheel.

And also:

What is the best/most popular replacement turbo for this one?

Only for a bit more bhp's.

Ok, ik know now that its from an R33 GTS-T. RB25DET

I have noticed that a lot of people use HKS turbo's.

What would be the best turbo solution for around 350 - 400BHP ?

Street use; Maximum boost would be 18psi.

i see search isn't working properly so i will give you the answer to the question that was in that link that is stickied on forced induction.

i am guessing you are located in the UK but since you haven't said i don't know so it may affect what you choose.

most people here looking for a mild upgrade go for a hi-flowed turbo, which involves rebuilding the factory turbo with new internals that like the name implies flows more. they can be ball bearing or bush bearing each with its pro's and con's.

GCG make probably the most used ball bearing hi-flow for around $1850 or one our site traders Hypergear make bush bearing versions for around $800.

HKS turbos generally cost a lot more but are generally nice bits of kit.
