hahah laughing at this thread. not a lot of evidence in the first post that shoes an understanding of turbocharged petrol engines or v8's.

cars built for 2 different markets also people.

yeah different markets, the slider gate mad kents and the good for nothing flanelet burnout and straight line speed v8 douches. lol

the jap's used nitrous oxide in there fighter planes in world war 2. during a dog fight, the used it to get out of dodgy situations, pretty smart hey

They lost the war, so how smart could it have been?

^^^ True hehe

The Japanese lost...

1) HIRYU

2) AKAGI

3) SORYU and

4) KAGA in June '42 at Midway

Nitrous couldn't help them then, at this turning point in the Pacific.

Were they the small ships? Perhaps pocket battleships?

They were f?%kin CARRIERS!

4 CARRIERS that their planes couldn't return to.

You do realise that the Supermarine Spitfire and P-51 Mustang both had a Rolls Royce V12 engine which had a two speed intercooled supercharger (had a 'scramble' type over boost setting to be used in emergencies), so blower > nawwwws

um I don't know what historical sources you've been reading/watching/listening to, but Japan was well and truly on the back foot when the bombs dropped - the main purpose of those was to avoid the inevitable war of attrition which would have occured should the Allies have attempted a land invasion of mainland Japan.

I think this is a much better topic that the crap originally started:p

V8's or turbo.... since when do people debate this? Just go out and smoke him and that's the end of it... That's how things have and should always be done.

Remember... all the bullsh!t stops at the track

I'm surprised the bogans haven't reverted to their classic "V8 is a real man's car, coz you need a big set of balls to drive one..." argument yet...

or have they? I haven't being paying much attention.

EDIT: The ultimate power house I reckon should be a nuclear powered car.

well japan was winning the war, america got cold feet and nuked the place. then japan stood down

So what you're saying is that the US went from a losing position to a winning one with the development of that weapon? So who's smarter now?

Wow.....I never thought I'd ever say that an American was smarter than someone else, but to be fair they did import all their brains from Europe.

Bringing the analogy back on topic, battles are nice but winning the war that matters. The Americans won by making 2 massive explosions rather than going for thousands of teeny tiny ones. I guess size does matter.

what about if i tip some nuclear waste on my dragon??????

How did this thread get onto this? i wouldnt start punching out lines about the war, there is so much people dont know as information can be altered after the outcome.

Anyways no disrespect, jst war is a terrible thing.

Back to v8 n turbo talk lolz!!!

'only milk n juice comes in 2 litres'

'we came on planes, you came in chains' whoops wrong

only goon comes in 5L LOL

no America went for 2 huge explosions rather than suffer unimaginable losses in what would have been a very dirty and cruel war on the main islands of Japan; they knew that the Japanese were literally going to fight for every centimetre of ground and would rather die than surrender dishonourably.

I usually taunt V8 drivers by telling them V8s are only good in speedboats lol

what about if i tip some nuclear waste on my dragon??????

So long as you have the correct decals and of course the turbo muffler..... nuffin' is going to touch ya!

ps rev[200] your links aren't funny, ninjas and maddox are f**king gay like chuck norris jokes, welcome to faggotry from 5 years ago.

Perhaps you are right...then there is this thread which is masculine with strong hetrosexual overtones.

what about if i tip some nuclear waste on my dragon??????

then you will get Jap-Spec Godzilla! :D atomic breath FTW!

US-Spec Godzilla sucks that thing can't do sh*t except eat fish & run and hide at the 1st sight of US attack choppers...

    • It's not, but it does feel like a bit of a missed opportunity regardless. For example, what if the cylinder head was redesigned to fit a GDI fuel system? It's worth like two full points of compression ratio when looking at modern GDI turbo vs PFI turbo. I'm pretty reliably surprised at how much less turbo it takes to make similar power out of a modern engine vs something like an RB26. Something with roughly the same dimensions as a -7 on an S55 is making absolutely silly power numbers compared to an RB26. I know there's a ton of power loss from things like high tension rings, high viscosity oil, clutch fan, AWD standby loss, etc but it's something like 700 whp in an F80 M3 vs 400 whp in an R33 GTR. The stock TF035HL4W turbos in an F80 M3 are really rather dinky little things and that's enough to get 400 whp at 18 psi. This just seems unwise no? I thought the general approach is if you aren't knock limited the MFB50 should be held constant through the RPM range. So more timing with RPM, but less timing with more cylinder filling. A VE-based table should accordingly inverse the VE curve of the engine.
    • I've seen tunes from big name workshops with cars making in excess of 700kW and one thing that stood out to me, is that noone is bothering with torque management. Everyone is throwing in as much timing as the motor can take for a pull. Sure that yields pretty numbers on a dyno, but it's not keeping these motors together for more than a few squirts down the straight without blowing coolant or head gaskets. If tuners, paid a bit more attention and took timing out in the mid range, managed boost a bit better, you'll probably see less motors grenading. Not to name names, or anything like that, but I've seen a tune, from a pretty wild GT-R from a big name tuner and I was but perplexed on the amount of timing jammed into it. You would have expected a quite a bit less timing at peak torque versus near the limiter, but there was literally 3 degrees of difference. Sure you want to make as much as possible throughout the RPM range, but why? At the expense of blowing motors? Anyhow I think we've gone off topic enough once again lol.
    • Because that’s not what any of them are building these heads or blocks for. It’s to hold over over 1000hp at the wheels without breaking and none of that stuff is required to make power
    • Dort sounds above 3k rpm are dorty 🤣 I might krinkle black the alloy 🤔
    • It makes you wonder, all these people starting to make a billet replacement head, I wonder if any have thought about trying to adapt tech from newer engines into them. You're already at the full design stage to make a billet head... Why not really spice it up and had some more modern tech into the mix too...
