only boosting to about 5psi

ever since i got my pretty much stock r33 its only ever boosted to around the line between 0 and +7 psi (about 5psi)

why does it do this..

i heard all kinds of theories..

-computer turns down the boost when its too hot to avoid pinging ->this cant be true cos even when it aint hot it only goes to 5ish

-faulty guage

-turbo problems

any1 had this problem? if so what was the cause?

That factory gauge does not read in psi. The boost you are running sounds about right.

the stocker gauge will most probably measure in mmhg units, not PSI...

Hype :there was a thred ages ago asking similar stuff..

but the basic idea is that the nissan gauge reads around 5 mm/hg (or whateva) but that is equivalant to about 7psi, which is just right for a stocker..

whack in a boost gauge and this should all be confirmed!
