Hi,

I'm looking at buying a Renault Clio Sport V6 (2001-2005) (the MR layout)

Does anyone have any information about this model and if it can be imported?

Thanks

Theoretically it would be eligible under SEVS, because it is sufficiently different to the base model Clio, but because they were only built in limited numbers, you'd be pushing it uphill to get a workshop to agree to take one on as a test car.

From what I understand there are only two of them in Australia, both personal imports, and as luck would have it, one of them is up for sale. I spotted it yesterday in the latest issue of Unique Cars magazine.

Thanks for the info Iron Chef, i saw the one for sale but at 70k bit over-priced in my books seeing as they were around 50k AUS brand new.

Because no workshop would want to take it on as a test car im guessing i would be looking upwards of 5k for compliance? heading more towards the 10k mark?

seen the one for sale in SA up close and personal! very neat car, looks tough as.

the owner said it was a breeze getting it through as a personal import, because he lives out of town he just had someone come down and quickly look over it before getting it registered.
