Just got quote from just cars....$1950

Market value only $14000, excess $1200 effectively,

this is for 29 year old, with 60% NCB

Famous will match it but not better it :(! so screw them all...

back to third party only.......

My only concern is theft, how do i make my car harder to steal...

So far my anti-theft measures are;

- car looks stock so doesnt attract too much attention

- triple immobiliser

- 2nd alarm with another immobiliser

Any other suggestions would be appreciated..... :)

If I didn't have theft insurance I would definitely get a tracking device. The only reason I don't have one now is because my insurance won't give me any sort of discount to put one on so where's the incentive? If I had the spare cash I'd buy one.

you could go back to old skool kill switches...

i ran (on my old car) a relay to my fuel pump that was switched from inside the cabin, a solenoid on my fuel line & the ol' faithful ignition kill switch.

before you all laugh people tried to steal it on several occasions and failed. its annoying to come back to a car with a stuffed ignition barrel n window, but better than coming back to no car at all

3M metal Security Tint

they are expensive but worth it, i think if u tell ur insurance company you have these, they might even lower your premium

i HIGHLY reccomend this tint, but then again some stupid *^*^*&%^%&^ can just smash the front windscreen, but its better than nothing

tracking device...nah id rather get insurance

hmmm where can i get tracking device stickers haha

Get a tracker for around 12-1300 $ , you only pay once , you moniter it yourself , the only extra cost is a sim card .

Check this out . http://www.rojone.com.au/

blinking red light and padlock should put away most joy riders,,,,

but when it comes to professional, nothing is really useful here

but then again why would they have all these hassel to steal a r33 skyline??

Yeah R33 and R32 Skylines are getting so cheap there's no value to the professional thief surely. Now on the other hand if you have a Ferrari...

Oh, to make your car theft proof, sell it and buy a Barina. Seriously who is going to steal a Barina?

But seriously, get a wheel clamp, a club lock, a gear stick lock etc. The sheer number of visual deterrents should be enough to put anyone off.

    • Hi soviet_merlin, We appreciate your concern regarding this possibly being some sort of PR/Political hype, I assure you that is not the case, I wish we could claim something like that, but in this case, we merely reached out for comment on the basis of the outrage we too felt, as those heavily in the automotive industry. Ps. the original source in the social media post is CarExpert not CarExplore.    Best, CE.
    • Made a bit of a discovery, but while I was cruising, I randomly decided to test to see if it worked and it showed up on my IC7. The entire time I tested it before, I never thought to turn the ignition on. I only tested it with head lights turned on but with the ignition off. Huge oversight on my end. I’m a dummy. I know.
    • G'day all, I have drilled and tapped the hole for the relocation of the timing belt tensioner. That was straight forward. I'm unsure if I need to also put another hole for the smaller stud that the spring behind the tensioner catches on (this is how it seems to work in its original spot). Or do you not use the spring behind it and just torque it down? Thanks in advance, I did a search but couldn't find anything related and it doesn't mention it in the rb30det sau guide.
    • Hi All,  just thought I would provide an update as I know smooth (Matt) was on this forum from 2003.    my brother Matthew passed away end of may 2024 at the age of 41 from liver failure. I am not sure how many of his original team krazy friends are still on here or active but thought it reasonable to let the forum know.    if you have any photos or pictures it would be great if you could share them.    it took me a while to work out he was active on here.    thanks so much
