Long Lasting Performance Street Tyre

Need some help finding a really long lasting tyre. Will be going to uni next year and will be broke. lol

Looking at 235/45/17 all round or 235/45 front and 255/40 rear. Not decided yet. I was looking at the 595Evo, although I want something with pretty decent wet traction.

Any recommendations would be great.

Price is no concern. Well I'd like to stay under 400 a corner.

a mate has 215/45/17s Falken RT215 semi slicks.... he drives his rex a few times a week and on the weekends it can get a bit of a hard time.. they have been on there for 2 years now and hardly worn at all.. at this rate he'll get at least 4 years out of them... and they are super sticky for the street and awesome in the wet. he got them off ebay, brand new for $250 per tyre... best performance bang for buck hes spent yet.

yep re001's for sure.. got them on my barge.. no probs so far..

great in the wet, when im on the freeway my mates hate sitting behind me, due to the amount of spray the tyres kick up.. doesnt bother me too much!!

The RT215s have been discontinued for a while, so any stock left will be quite old. I'm not sure how much that matters to some people.

I will say that I'd agree though. I used to have RT215s and they're the best streetable tyre I've ever driven on. Falken's replacements, the RT615s, aren't much chop in comparison.

I've heard from some people who've driven on RT215s, RT615s and Kumho KU36s in reasonably powered cars who really don't rate the Kumhos. They will be cheap, though, but not my first choice. Also, with a treadwear rating of 140 they won't last long.

Bridgestone RE001s are a good choice. I've also heard good things about Toyo T1Rs.
