cypher1024
Hey guys, I'm looking at buying an R32 GTS with a locking diff. This would be cool, except that apparently it eats tyres, and handling can be slighty akward at times. Basically my question is, what would it cost me to replace it with a closer to stock item? (Including labour)... And does anyone have any idea where I can get it done? (I live in NSW, near Hornsby.) skyla
Is a locking diff the same as LSD? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/28320-how-much-for-an-r32-gts-rear-diff/#findComment-592532 Share on other sites
sinisteR32
locking diff has no give. my mate has one in his 'line and whenever he chucks a u-turn you hear the tyres skidding as one is travelling more distance than the other but the locker diff will only let them spin at the same time. LSD (limited slip diff) much better. lets you turn without problems will save you heaps on tyres and will perform better overall. more costly though but remember, its only money. sloppy diff each wheel spins completely independently of the other. standard boring no good for track work but cheaper. Ryno
I've got an open style GTS rear diff, incl half shafts, that you can have for $150... It came off my 1991 R32 GTS25 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/28320-how-much-for-an-r32-gts-rear-diff/#findComment-597050 Share on other sites
