Really. Might bring my son :ninja:

Yup :) Spoke to Jazz about this a while ago as your 10yo wanted to go but even though there's no legal age here most fields only allow 13+ to play. Better than in NSW where you have to be 16!

No human shields Bard

LOL had that happen the other day.. I usually make the buck or birthday boy run the gauntlet and I was like "OK! who's the buck?!" (as they had led me to believe it was a bucks party). One guy pointed to his mate and goes "he is!" so I turn to his mate and go "who's the best man?", he points at his mate that dobbed him in.. I'm like "sweet, give me your guns, you won't need those" :)

So I line them all up and the two dudes go to run the gauntlet, just before I yell GO, I notice that the "best man" was just behind the "groom" and was edging in behind him slightly (thought it was a bit gay at the time). As I yelled GO! the "best man" grabbed the "groom" in a bearhug, lifted him off his feet and held him there in front of him while 20 people shot him repeatedly.. they both hit the deck after a few seconds so I called the cease fire.

Turns out, it wasn't a bucks party.. the dudes mate was just being an asshole :)

Good times.

Oh and I'm pretty sure I saw a dragon.

Count me in mate. Might have to go find me some white stormtrooper armor............... :O Probably going to be bringing a few others aswel, will let you know numbers and will have them pay deposits when the time comes aswel :) DO IT!!!!!

Hey Bubba, do you need a gun license to own a paintball marker in australia? Would imagine so but just to be sure...

Also, wondering what sort of marker would be a good place to start with if I were to consider buying one. I have played a bit and was thinking about playing some more, my play style isn't really reliant on spraying either. I'm more of a shoot to hit a person as opposed to spray and pray, I'll spray as cover fire when I am moving between barriers and shit, but yeah, any type of marker you'd recommend? :(

Yes you do need a firearms license (doesn't matter if you already have one, you still have to apply for a new category).

If you're coming to the SAUWA paintball day I'll show you my toys and give you some more advice but a good starting marker is a Planet Eclipse eTek.

Check out paintballshop.com

What sort of paintball are you interested in playing? Tournament training at Action is on Sundays from 10am, that would be the best place to get your hands on different markers and try them out, most people are willing to let you fingerbang their babies :)

There is a tournament on Sunday 18th at Action Paintball if anyone would like to come down and see what tournament paintball is all about. Spectators are more than welcome and the field is all enclosed so you won't need a mask.

So whats the deal...SAU v Humans????

We'll sort teams out on the day depending on numbers and firepower :D

That Etek looks hot, kind of similar design to the Angel series, love the elongated barrel :)

Might have to take some time out to come down and have a look on the 18th as I'm keen to start somewhere. Wouldn't be looking to jump straight into tournament or anything straight away but socially for a start and take it from there for sure. Will have a yarn to you about it sometime ;)

Too easy :D

Best way to get into it is to start collecting gear then come down to training, I find scrimages on the tournament field at training much more fun than social/punter play. You will also learn a lot more and probably get the bug a lot faster :merli: (it's also cheaper and less hassle being that you can just rock up and there's pretty much always someone to shoot at/with).

    • To be fair passengers who aren't silly and have been in proper fast cars have often been pretty impressed once you hit 4th gear
    • I suppose that's true. Barring almost any situation, I'll never sell so what the market does is kind of irrelevant to me. It's possible I'd make most of my money back. That spreadsheet I mentioned? Maybe I could make back more than what the car's total costs thus far are, but the parts and all that is possibly a different story... Thanks for reading. It was certainly a good moment and just makes the ties to the car that much stronger. It's exciting that the option will be there to bring it over, however I have some plans with a shop that may end up keeping the car there longer, not sure. Coupled with the fact I want to move there and haven't solidified any path yet. So in a way, it feels like I'm in a limbo state that is uncertain; time will tell.
    • No worries, everything worked out in the end. I just wanted to make the point that it doesn't matter where it comes from (I.E Australia), it can be broken or improperly built. I would still purchase from these companies in the future. B2R - Not certain how that finished, this was on a car I wired a few things and street tuned. I know the owner ended up shipping the motor back to Australia for investigation. Hopefully some of it is covered under warranty.  Turbosmart - I always pressure test everything that goes on my car. It's a habit from my career in oil and gas. I run two 40mm's and both had major leaks from the actuator to exhaust portion through the shaft. I returned both, they shipped me back two and one was leaking and the other had a 38mm top (40mm gate with 38mm actuator cap, no idea how that happens). Eventually after a lot of back and forth I found myself with two non-leaking gates. I believe this happens a lot more then people would like to believe but you would never know if you don't pressure test them prior to installation. Crank Motorsport - Issued a full refund and let me keep the seat rails. I turned them into scrap metal for other projects. GKTech - Shipped me out a replacement and asked that I modify it as per my idea and that they would do the same for a future revision. ATP - Can just needed a large shim to bolt up properly.  Haltech - They started an actual proper Beta channel for firmware's a few months back and stopped using the general public for testing. I'm now much happier.  Speedtek - f**k Speedtek. I would love to watch them burn.
    • I've got a Turbosmart wastegate, ATP catch can, many GK Tech parts and Haltech everything. Everything's been perfect, sorry to hear your experience wasn't the same
