Hi all ,

I have just fitted some 6 pot ap brakes with 355mm two piece disc's to my R32 GTR and i have now got good front brake's - Maybe to good you can lock the fronts just by hovering your foot over the pedal.

My question is this , Does anybody know what size mastercylinder i should be running with this set up ? and do i need to change rear calipers ( What to ) to get a good balance to the brakes.

Every thing else on the brake sysytem is standard at the moment.

Peoples experiances would be great.

Cheers rob.

Hi Rob,

I run the same setup and have no issues, the car sees a lot of track time too. Everything else is factory - don't bother changing the master cylinder if it is working as it should. Speak to a brake specialist if you are concerned as guess work with brakes will always end in tears.

Regards

Andrew,

thanks for the piece of mind , its not that i am worried about the set up , just looking for the best posible set up , i too see a lot of track work - the reasone for the up grade .

Cheers Rob .

The AP CP5555 6 pot has less piston surface area then the std R33 GTR Brembo so you should not have any issues with needing a bigger master cylnder . If anything it is debatable that you may need a smaller master cylinder...but enough people run these setups on both the R32 and R33 GTR that it isnt an issue.

Of note, you are probably best keep with the smaller R32 master cylinder, as the R33 runs a bigger MC with the Brembos

hey, sorry to hijack the thread, but I am looking at this kit for my gtr to replace the current stock setup which is not handling Mallala well. A couple of questions;

1. do you need 18" rims to fit the 6pot AP's with 355 discs? I know test fitting is the proper test but would be interested in your wheel setup (i've got 17" LMGT4's)

2. I take it from your post that you're still running the stock rear setup - including calipers and discs? Is that generally ok with trackwork on a car with moderate power?

3. lastly, what pads are you running in the APs?

Cheers
