Stupid noob question but as I don't have a tyre lever that fits, I was gunna buy one just in case I get a flat. The one I was supplied doesn't fit and I tried all the sockets in my socket set and they don't fit although that may be just because they are not deep enough to accomodate the length of the nut before the hex starts....

So what size are the wheel nuts on a R33??

Thx

are they standard or aftermarket? unfortunately different brand/type wheel nuts have different sized heads even though they may all have the same size thread. they come in all different size heads and lengths too. some even need their own propriety socket to undo. you are best off just measuring them with a set of vernier calipers, if you don't have a set, buy some, cheap plastic ones from bunnings etc less than $2.

You already have a socket set; so that means you've got the handle.

You only need to go down to Auto One or Repco to get a long socket that fits your handle at one end and your wheel nut at the other. Take your handle with you, because the male end will need to match up. I don't know why I'm explaining it like this... Perhaps I glanced at your Avatar.

BTW get a good quality socket, otherwise crappy stuff will break when it needs to fit down into that thin space in the crevice . Sh/t there I go again!

Thx Terry once upon a life I was a tradesman [desk jockey these days] so pretty okay with the socket issues, was just trying to avoid buying one and go out to the carpark, try it out, doesn't fit, go back exchange it blah blah blah yadda yadda yadda. Seems that's what I am up for so Repco here I come.....

I even have a set of vernier calipers......

Glad you liked the avatar lol....

Thx

Nissan standard appears to be 21mm.

And the winner is "blind elk"..... 21mm it is!! $26 for a 21mm deep reach socket plus a bar adaptor [bit with a hole in it so you can insert a peice of bar to turn the socket] from Repco!!

    • You see R34 GTRs listed for 200-300k are they really selling for these prices? Kinda seems like the same ones listed all the time.
    • Only needed to pull out the seats, center console and gear shifter surround, took a weekend and a fair few beers. You get to look forward to finding all sorts of weird shit under the seats and carpet, I pulled out a Chinese dudes passport from 2003, 220 yen and a condom wrapper 😆
    • Well, turns out not a lot happened from back then to now, between life again, and working on 3 separate other cars (only one of which was mine, and will now be departing the household soon).   So I decided with the whole "don't go outside, it's a cyclone!" Turning in to being not a whole lot, I ventured down to the garage, found a couple of water leaks in the shed (the main one I've already fixed), and then ended up "stuck" as it started pouring rain, and I didn't want to walk back inside in the pouring rain. This meant I ended up taking a look at the Skyline, and trying to work out what past Matt had been upto. I retraced a few things out from scratch, added the rest of the power feeds in that I needed for the indicators, and headlights. Double checked I'd wired a few things up correctly (and worked out how I wired a few things to begin with), updated my sparse notes. Added one of the ground points. Oh, and got really really dusty, as the car is quite dirty. Wrote up quickly what should be left for me to do with the wiring too. Adding the below photos more for my records than anything else. I need to make myself a proper book for the car that details everything, and how I've done it, but for now, this is my records... The third image is my most important one for me, and I need to draw it out into a proper schematic eventually. The last photo is my re-written list, I'd have put it on the white board, except I had to take the white board down to fix one of the water leaks.
