Help Wiring Gauges To The Dimmer

hey guys.. how do you wire the gauge to the dimmer, so at night when you turn your lights on the gauges dim? iv got a test light out testing wires and turning the lights on and off.. i just cant seem to find it?

If we're talking about the car in your avatar, wire it in to the cigarette lighter light.

It will not overload the circuit as it is not drawing current, only providing the gauge with a signal to dim the gauge lamp.
