Hi Flow Cat

Hi,

Im planning on getting a hi flow cat on my r33 series 2. Just wondering if anyone can give me some tips or advice on which type or brand will be good. Any brands has good flow without any sort of restriction?

Im quite new with this, what is the cells and what do they do? Whats the difference from 100 -300 sells?

300 cells wont flow as much as a 100 cell, doesnt allow as much air to go through

basically the less cells the less restriciton, therefore more flow

Most hi flow cats arent legal. Pretty sure Metal Cat ones are

majority of aftermarket cats are not EPA compliant, go do an emissions test and watch the NOx go through the roof!

might as well just gut the cat, hi flow vs no cat, you're going to be raped by emissions anyways if you get done

I use a magnaflow 3 1/2" cat, deals with the heat extremely well, not concerned about emission's because my car would fail anyway.

Most of High flow cats don't flow very well. I'm running a 400 cell Xforce honeycorn cat. Its running pretty sweet.

If you gut the cat, you quite often get rear bar discoloration, mainly on white and silver cars i think.

How do the catco cats compare to others?

I have upgraded to a Xforce 3.5inch high flow cat and it flows a lot better then gutted and you dont get the black stuff on your rear bar

I know that i will never be on a track or driving hard, any advice for me man or anyone else wanna chime in?

also if you dont mind me asking, how much would one set you back?

Inside ceramic cats, the ceramic castrate have been known to collaspe (due to misfiring/knocking or shook apart due to vibration I cant remember), metal cats the castrate is welded to the body so its less likely to collaspe.

As for a r33, is there any cat specifically suits or made for the car in terms of performance, flow and not causing big problems once the cat is installed? At times when you fit a new part, something seems to go wrong.

Sounds better as my car does run a bit rich for safety as im sure most guys who have their car tuned. Thanks for the info, ill check out their site n do some research n maybe post it back here.

A few of my friends have parts from CES, fantastic quality but their prices and customer service leaves something to be desired; that to say in their cases
