Hey guys just seeing if anyone is keen for a Auto Couture bodykit (through Shine Auto Project USA) to suit a Toyota Soarer. These things are over $6000 landed in genuine form however im organising 100% perfect fitting copies that will require no modification at all (unless your car has been in a accident then it might be out by a few mm). Anyway they are probably the best and most elegant ganster looking kit that came out for the Soarer. Ill be doing them at $1500 a pop if anyone is keen. Fitment is guaranteed and you will receive a full refund if that promise is not delivered upon. Pretty cheap way of making your car look 10 years newer considering the 1997+ update bodykits go for $1000-$1200 second hand which this is basically that same just a bit lower.

Alright this is confirmed to go ahead, only 25 of these kits are available Australia wide and for such a rare kit with perfect fitment and made to Australian specs for number plates and perfected much more so that the genuine article i think $1500 is damn good value.

Anyway final pics of the kit fitted and painted.

IF YOUR INTERESTED PLEASE EXPRESS YOUR INTEREST IN HERE OR PM ME. KITS WILL BE FINISHED JUST BEFORE XMAS HOWEVER YOU ONLY HAVE 1.5 MONTH TO PUT YOUR NAME DOWN OTHERWISE YOU CANNOT PARTICIPATE.

Cheers

Its pre-paid for the reason that its all a group organizing it for themselves. So the retainer is used for purchasing the kit from the US form Shine Auto Projects and then to pay for a mould to be made. Then the first copy comes out and is checked for perfection. If it is sub par then the bodykit place refunds us the money for the mould and we sell off the Shine kit. But yeah thats very unlikely as these guys have a very very high reputation for making quality gear. The biggest risk to each person is of losing $100 max if we dont get money back for the mould but ill be writting up contracts and getting them to sign them (their are fine with this) to cover us from been out of pocket. In essence is a groupbuy with 25 investors and im dont a lot of research to know all the ins and outs and this company will much us some quality gear. So considering these will be perfect fit and a very very rare kit (only 1 in the country as of now) $100 is little risk considering you can easily buy a knock off kit for $600-$700 only to find out its shit and spend another $1000 having it fitting perfectly. Another positive is that it will come in $1200-$1300 AUD cheaper than getting one privately from Shine in the US and ours will be made to Aus specs in terms of the number plate hole and lights as well as addressing certain minor problems with the genuine Auto Couture kit and the Shine kit such as: having brackets for the foggies, number plate holes and lights to suit are plates, fixing the small gap that the genuine kit is know for having under the headlights and top of the rear bar.

It pretty much is a improved version as close as perfect as possible in Aus spec at half the price of the Shine kit and 4 times less then the genuine kit. So you have a better fitting and looking kit for less as no one is making money off this and is only for enthusiasts. Right now we are at 12 people paid with another 3 to come very soon. This is now officially confirmed of going ahead and the Shine kit to be used in the mould will be purchased and shipped out within a week from now. The estimated time that these will be ready is about 1-2 weeks before XMAS as the time frame looks like:

-1 month to import the kit

-few days to trial fit the kit, make corrections and modify it to have brackets for the foggies aswells as the number plate hole suitable for Aus plates.

-1 month in a mould

-first kit comes out of the mould and gets test fitted, if its up to my highest expectationsSo we proceed with getting all the kits made otherwise we walk away and get the money back for the mould and sell of the Shine kit to recoup costs. This is very unlikely but if it isnt up to scratch we get our money back.

So really as long as you are sure you want this you will get a 100% perfect fitting kit or all your money back, so the retainer pretty much allows as at having a free look that these kits are made to our highest expectations.

As for my reputation for holding peoples money im pretty well know for performing groupbuys on soarercentral.com and will also be know in here in about 2 weeks once people get their orders from my floor mat groupbuy. So i can be trusted not to scam people and i work my arse off to help people for free just because i wanted a kit but couldnt afford it at a single price for this is fore like minded people and by getting volume im able to afford what im after. Thats why i work for free :-)

let me know if your interested or would like any other info mate.

Well all i want to let people know is this exact same deal was offered threw ebay and 25 people got ripped off.

For the same kit none the less and ontop of that it was pay first get later and not one person got there kit or there money from memory,How do i know well my mate whos a fanatic was rather pissed when he found out it was a scam and i never heard the end of it.Turned out the bank account was a fake and the money was gone.

yep, sounds very very dodgy... and plus this topic should not be here, as its obviously a buisness add... this should be deleted and the user investigated?

Read the link in the first post i made. It outlines many of the things you need to know there. But in short the guy that ripped people off is on NS, i was originally going to get him to make the kits but the more i research the more i didnt feel comfortable with using him. So i dropped him and when with a well know SA company. The main thing is that i dont want to send the money interstate to some company as it makes it a lot hard for me to recoup for people so thats why we are going with the SA company plus many more reason all of which are positive. Anyway the dude stole my idea and all i wanted was to get a kit for myself which via a groupbuy would reduce the cost. The guy on ebay stole my idea and started advertising. His company is Kustom Auto Stylin in NSW and he is a f**k face. If you mate need the dudes name to call the cops im more than happy to pass on the info. Anyway i told people they should avoid him at all cost, i knew the 'guaranteed fitment' was bullshit as he planned on keeping the kit in a mould for only a week (we are going with a full month to eliminate any chance of warping). Anyway long story short if you have a soarer and are interested i suggest you get onto soarercentral.com and look at my thread under the parts section. That and ive been trusted in the past with multiple thousands of dollars all from people that never have met me only to get glowing applause for my hard work in helping out the import community. If you dont believe me check into my floor mat groupbuy in 2 weeks and you will see around 40 very happy people that have trusted me with $5K for the first time on SAU. That and i already have $5K in retainers form 12 people so that money will be used to buy the kit from America on Monday or Tuesday once i get all the floor mat orders out of the way and onto people.

yep, sounds very very dodgy... and plus this topic should not be here, as its obviously a buisness add... this should be deleted and the user investigated?

Im no business, i have nothing to do with Kustom Auto Stylin. Im an individual that wants this kit but for a genuine item your looks at $6K+ landed or for a Shine replica closer to $3k. That and we improve upon the genuine and replica. Read the thread that i linked if you have your doubts. Only reason i do these things is that the ground work for 1 person versus 25 people is not that much more so i try and help out like minded people who are after the same thing. That and taking a year off uni help to have the time to do these sort of thing.

yep, sounds very very dodgy :P

Read these before you judge, you think i put hundreds of hours into research and asking questions in the hopes of scamming people. Ive got a reputation for been trust worthy. If you really want to see the proof in the pudding ask ANYONE on soarercentral.com, ask them what are your thoughts on David Grab the groupbuy king. You will soon see that kind of praise even money cant buy.

Any way research thread is here-http://soarercentral.com/sc-forum/messages/283/290045.html?1248388387

Logistics thread-http://soarercentral.com/sc-forum/messages/292/292236.html?1253161467

ps. the guys that scammed should have seen it a mile off, the guy didnt have any form of contact details or a address and thats the same go with his website http://www.kustomautostylin.com.au/index.php?p=1_38 . He also tried to invade my thread and sell his shit on soarercentral.com before getting banned by the owner of soarercentral.com and not only have i asked permission from Peter the owner of the site i have his seal of approval and have so because of my record in taking care of my fellow man :-)

The proof for you doubters that this is legit and that i am will be once the floor mats start rolling in for these individuals that got on my groupbuy http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Fl...uy-t274786.html which not only involveds SAU but Supraforums and Soarercentral

And here is evidence of my previous successful groupbuy

So dont right me off completely before knowing the full facts and assuming that ill do the same as the f**k face that wanted to use my own hard work to make cash and ended up screwing people. I wanted only 25 of these Aus wide and Rob and his brother wanted to ruin it by palming off shitty knock offs like rice cakes. Anyone that got scammed let me know as i might be able to assist with recovering your money or aiding in info that might be useful to the police.

Cheers

Im intrested in gtr floor mates for my 33 please."

Ill prove myself no worries. Anyway to help your mate this is the dudes profile on NS, him and his brother are the business Kustom Auto Stylin. Ill try and find his last name for you as im sure back in the day when i was asking him of possible making them for us he let it slip. This car has the paltes 'RRATED' which is a purple widebody piece of shit varietta S15so if you need to track him down get the cops to track down the location of the car under the address it is regoed and you will have this scum bag. Whats the deal with paypal insurance, will your mate get his cash back via paypal?

Also one more important thing i thought i should add, i always knew that Rob aka 'Kustom Auto Stylin' wouldnt go ahead as Shine Auto Projects wasnt going to sell them a kit to use for a mould. This was mainly because they didnt want someone else making cash off their hard work and also knew that the kits would be sub par. However Ken from Shine Auto Projects has given me the go ahead to use their kit for a mould and you can email him to confirm this is true mainly for the reason that i went to him and asked if it was ok, also he knew i was an enthusiast and was trying to help out other enthusiasts as the shipping and taxes to bring in kits from the US still made them too expensive and therefore we werent ever going to be potential customers. From my knowledge only 2 people actually went ahead with the ebay thing, not sure up until the last week how many more came on but yeah i only know of 2 people that put their names down and it was never going to happen as Shine wasnt going to supply a kit for them. Even if they were the kits would have been very sub par as his ETA of the 15/9/09 meant he had 65days to buy a kit, get it to Aus, make a mould and then make the copies. Just getting it here will take 1 whole month and when i was still considering him he said he would keep the Shine kit in the mould for a week and then make copies. The ones that ill be contracting an SA company to make them for us is leaving them in the mould for a full month. They know their shit unlike Rob and yeah i have a personal connection to this groupbuy as the kit that comes out is the kit that i will be using myself on my car and seeing as my new 1998 Soarer has cost me over $20K just for its rarity and the fact that im a perfectionist going through Rob would have never deliveried on my/our highest expectations. Thats why i spend a considerable amount of time looking for another company that could prove and i felt would deliver the product to meet our highest expectations. Even then once i found the currrent SA company i want to use i told them that its a groupbuy and that i will need contracts sign to cover against a product that they dont deliver upon. They are fine with signing a contract that the kits will be perfect fitment otherwise we get our money back.

ps. just a bit of tongue and cheek but look at my groupbuy thread, you really think a scammer is going to be up at 3am and 5am like the other night sort out problems and making sure the delivery date is deliver upon.

My final words are if your a Soarer owner and have dreamed about getting an Auto Couture kit like myself and many others but couldnt never afford $6K for the genuine kit and you think this is for you then please read the thread on Soarercentral.com in the parts section (there is a link above) and inform yourself to make the decision that will suit you. I know you will have a fair bit of reading to do but yeah all you need to know to make up your mind if this is for you or not is in there.

Hey mate its the add not the seller.

I know about the last group buy that went belly up after 25 people paided there money and got ripped off.

As for your floor mat sale mate people got there goods i saw no unhappy customers,If you had the floor mats i was after i would have bought them.

Simple as that mate.

No harm in letting people know about a similar deal that is remarkably like the one that people got ripped off with. Its up to every indervidual person to make up there own mind at the end of the day.

Yeah no worries mate i just want it to be eveident that there is a distinction between me and Kustom Auto Stylin the scumbags. The reason why it is/was so similar is because the guy ripped all my research, planning and how i was make it happen off the soarer forums and threw it up on ebay. The reason why i initially set out to do the prepaid system was because im not a business and dont have the outlay to import and kit, make a mould and sell them. Rob the scammer from ebay also didnt know how popular Auto Couture could be so they just copied how i was planning on running things.

Once im all done with the floor mat groupbuy stuff ill clean this thread up and lay out the facts. But yeah for those people that are serious and want to make an informed decision you will have to head to soarercentral.com and ready the thread.

  • 1 month later...

Gtir-keiron- if you need the guy that ripped off your mate i can get it for you. He is currently selling his piece of shit Varetta S15 on carsales.com.au Just look out for the gay purple one with huge chromies.

    • Now that the break-in period for both clutch and transmission is nearly over I'd like to give some tips before I forget about everything that happened, also for anyone searching up how to do this job in the future: You will need at least 6 ton jack stands at full extension. I would go as far as to say maybe consider 12 ton jack stands because the height of the transmission + the Harbor Freight hydraulic platform-style transmission jack was enough that it was an absolute PITA getting the transmission out from under the car and back in. The top edge of the bellhousing wants to contact the subframe and oil pan and if you're doing this on the floor forget about trying to lift this transmission off the ground and onto a transmission jack from under the car. Also do not try to use a scissor jack transmission lift. You have to rotate the damn thing in-place on the transmission jack which is hard enough with an adjustable platform and a transmission cradle that will mostly keep the transmission from rolling off the jack but on a scissor lift with a tiny non-adjustable platform? Forget it. Use penetrating oil on the driveshaft bolts. I highly recommend getting a thin 6 point combination (box end + open end) wrench for both the rear driveshaft and front driveshaft and a wrench extension. These bolts are on tight with very little space to work with and those two things together made a massive difference. Even a high torque impact wrench is just the wrong tool for the job here and didn't do what I needed it to do. If your starter bolts aren't seized in place for whatever reason you can in fact snake in a 3/8 inch ratchet + 6 point standard chrome socket up in there and "just" remove the bolts for the starter. Or at least I could. It is entirely by feel, you can barely fit it in, you can barely turn the stupid ratchet, but it is possible. Pull the front pipe/downpipe before you attempt to remove the transmission. In theory you don't have to, in practice just do it.  When pulling the transmission on the way out you don't have to undo all the bolts holding the rear driveshaft to the chassis like the center support bearing and the rear tunnel reinforcement bar but putting the transmission back in I highly recommend doing this because it will let you raise the transmission without constantly dealing with the driveshaft interfering in one way or another. I undid the bottom of the engine mount but I honestly don't know that it helped anything. If you do this make sure you put a towel on the back of the valve cover to keep the engine from smashing all the pipes on the firewall. Once the transmission has been pulled back far enough to clear the dowels you need to twist it in place clockwise if you're sitting behind the transmission. This will rotate the starter down towards the ground. The starter bump seems like it might clear if you twist the transmission the other way but it definitely won't. I have scraped the shit out of my transmission tunnel trying so learn from my mistake. You will need a center punch and an appropriate size drill bit and screw to pull the rear main seal. Then use vice grips and preferably a slide hammer attachment for those vice grips to yank the seal out. Do not let the drill or screw contact any part of the crank and clean the engine carefully after removing the seal to avoid getting metal fragments into the engine. I used a Slide Hammer and Bearing Puller Set, 5 Piece from Harbor Freight to pull the old pilot bearing. The "wet paper towel" trick sucked and just got dirty clutch water everywhere. Buy the tool or borrow it from a friend and save yourself the pain. It comes right out. Mine was very worn compared to the new one and it was starting to show cracks. Soak it in engine oil for a day in case yours has lost all of the oil to the plastic bag it comes in. You may be tempted to get the Nismo aftermarket pilot bearing but local mechanics have told me that they fail prematurely and if they do fail they do far more damage than a failed OEM pilot bushing. I mentioned this before but the Super Coppermix Twin clutch friction disks are in fact directional. The subtle coning of the fingers in both cases should be facing towards the center of the hub. So the coning on the rearmost disk closest to the pressure plate should go towards the engine, and the one closest to the flywheel should be flipped the other way. Otherwise when you torque down the pressure plate it will be warped and if you attempt to drive it like this it will make a very nasty grinding noise. Also, there is in fact an orientation to the washers for the pressure plate if you don't want to damage the anodizing. Rounded side of the washer faces the pressure plate. The flat side faces the bolt head. Pulling the transmission from the transfer case you need to be extremely careful with the shift cover plate. This part is discontinued. Try your best to avoid damaging the mating surfaces or breaking the pry points. I used a dead blow rubber hammer after removing the bolts to smack it sideways to slide it off the RTV the previous mechanic applied. I recommend using gasket dressing on the OEM paper gasket to try and keep the ATF from leaking out of that surface which seems to be a perpetual problem. Undoing the shifter rod end is an absolute PITA. Get a set of roll pin punches. Those are mandatory for this. Also I strongly, strongly recommend getting a palm nailer that will fit your roll pin punch. Also, put a clean (emphasis on clean) towel wrapped around the back end of the roll pin to keep it from shooting into the transfer case so you can spend a good hour or two with a magnet on a stick getting it out. Do not damage the shifter rod end either because those are discontinued as well. Do not use aftermarket flywheel bolts. Or if you do, make sure they are exactly the same dimensions as OEM before you go to install them. I have seen people mention that they got the wrong bolts and it meant having to do the job again. High torque impact wrench makes removal easy. I used some combination of a pry bar and flathead screwdriver to keep the flywheel from turning but consider just buying a proper flywheel lock instead. Just buy the OS Giken clutch alignment tool from RHDJapan. I hated the plastic alignment tool and you will never be confident this thing will work as intended. Don't forget to install the Nismo provided clutch fork boot. Otherwise it will make unearthly noises when you press the clutch pedal as it says on the little installation sheet in Japanese. Also, on both initial disassembly and assembly you must follow torque sequence for the pressure plate bolts. For some reason the Nismo directions tell you to put in the smaller 3 bolts last. I would not do this. Fully insert and thread those bolts to the end first, then tighten the other larger pressure plate bolts according to torque sequence. Then at the end you can also torque these 3 smaller bolts. Doing it the other way can cause these bolts to bind and the whole thing won't fit as it should. Hope this helps someone out there.
