I've discovered the hard way. Now I have to drop the gearbox again just to replace this stupid carrier.

Yeah I feel you. I paid a workshop $972 to have a clutch fitted and it's not working correctly (not disengaging - it's 'sticking'), but they can't tell me which carrier they used other than it being the 'normal GTR one' - which is 18mm not the 14mm required. I'm not sure whether this would cause this though. :)

I've got the push type also. These is the issues I have:

They sound very similar to yours. Only way I can work it all out is pulling the box out again, putting what I know to be the right bearing/carrier in and hoping they didn't f**k the clutch plates.

From what I can find on here you need the 30501-N1604 bearing sleeve, and 30502-14601 throwout bearing. That is the 14mm. My ORC manual says you need a 14-16mm for the 709D.

f**k I hope that wasn't the 'normal' one they put in my car for the ORC709D. :D

i hope so too. i picked up brand new orc 709d for tyhe missus hasd only been in a month but he said it was so hard to drive he had to sell it.

all for the princely sum of $800 :)

i got it because i saw the witness mark that the stock bearing was used.. a 1 minute pahone call to ottomotto and a os twin bearing and carrier fixed it rite up :)

Bargain Dave. :D

What were the symptoms that made it so hard to drive?
