Work Ip Address Banned>

Hi Guys

I'm the IT admin in a College at Perth.

I'm wondering why our ip address has been banned from accessing SAU.

It can't be blocked internally cause i'm the one responsible for that.

The message i get is "Sorry, you are not permitted to use this board"

We had some history with spammers harvesting our servers and spoofing our email address back when i wasn't working here yet.

I assume that's the problem?

A lot of my colleagues and myself are a fan of this site and it'll be nice if we can browse from work

How do i get in touch with the site admins?

If its blocked - it is HIGHLY unlikely we will unblock it to be honest.

There is a rather long list of banned IP ranges, email prefixes and so on. For good measure i might add.

PM me the IP range and i will have a look, no promises though.

And dont expect a reply for at least a week (im flat out atm)

Just to clarify this, generally an IP address or range gets banned because someone who was banned keeps signing up with new IDs, as a result we have no choice but to ban the IP. Maybe find the person who was doing it and punch them until the message gets through for us?

LoL. If i knew who it was i will.

We use a standard Squid Proxy. I block sites on a daily basis eg. Youtube, Porn etc. So if SAU is blocked, i would've known about it.
