hope to see heaps of you there. It'd be an awsome sight, all those imports lined up, definatly taking the digital cam for sure.

abcent, saw you on wednesday night cruising.....not really sure why though, all that i saw driving around were some clapped out commonwhores..... nice ride, wont be able to make it on sat though, cricket, but keep details up on other meeting times and spots, oh, and cruises

As for wednesday night, hardly cruisin.....spent 5 mins in town pickin someone up from work....but it is amazing how many people crusie round geelong in beaten up old crud buckets and think there all that cauz they have a "autobarn special" neon light on the rear parcel shelf and windscreen washer lights....takes all sorts i guess.

keep ya posted, cheers

Are we all aware of the GOR cruise happening this weekend? Check out the "events" forum in Victoria for all the details....basically meeting at waurn ponds pub at 10:30am, departing round 11am, driving to Apollo Bay for BBQ and photo's etc, then heading back an alternate way.....guessing should be back in geelong between 6-8 o'clock. This will be a BIG turnout of Liners!!! coming from the other side of Melb and collecting more on there way here.

time for geelong Liners to show up an be counted i reckon!!

hope to see EVERYONE there, should be a great day.

today was a big day...10/3

abcent, saw you at 9:10 this morning on melbourne rd looked like u had a passenger and were headed towards corio way - unmistakable with those mags and wing.

ECR33- number plates of a 33 seen on fyans at about 1pm today all i could see was a exhaust and that it was gunmetal grey?

Finally- a silver 33 at Deakin waurn ponds campus at around 1pm today, would be cool to meet up and start our own little import group 'cause i've seen a nice rotor there and a rex etc...

oh, and before i forget, a white 33 coming past lara headed towards melb on the highway at 9am.

was a big day cause i hardly ever see that many skylines around geelong really :starwars:

Just confirming that I'm meeting a few people to go on the cruise this Saturday 24th April @ eastern beach carpark @ 9:00am leaving by 9:15am at the LATEST!!

Hey Pavel, think I saw you up the top carpark on Sat night? i think it was your car across from mine, If so.....nice ride :) looks really neat. theres been a fair few new one come into geelong recently.

There is a SAU cruise coming up soon, so should organise a meet point in geelong to leave from. There always a great day's driving, with more an more skylines every cruize (last one was around 50 i think). Great people too!!

it's on the 16th of October so only just over a week away, spread the word, see how many the geelong crew can turn out.....it's usually pretty dismal, most geelong liners here dont want to "cruze" out of geelong. We could meet early morning down eastern beach as thats the most central point I figure.

Ey Berin, yeah i was parked across from you :) sat night. Yeah i am defently going to SAU cruise, let me know when and where u wana meet up

I see few going around but never get a chance to talk to any... that sat night i seen another r33 parked next to ya, he seems to be cruising quite a lot in town, heh. oh and here are my car details:

R33 GTS25t '95

White

Blitz pod filter

Some jap cat back exhaust

17" rims

:headspin:

- Pavel

the guy parked next to me only got his R33 a few weeks ago, and has already caved the back in....he's shattered, as any of us would be...

as far as the cruise goes, best option is to use citylink to get to the meet point in ferntree gully, can get some from shell servo on the way out of geelong. I'm guessing from here to Ferntree Gully train station will take around 1:30-1:45 hours to get to, then the cruise itself is around 250km distance (so for us its around 470km) so a few servo stops (well for me anyway) will be needed. there meet time is 10:30am departing at 11:00am (ive posted the details of the cruise by snowmans original thread below)

DATE: SAT 16th October

MEET POINT: first section of Eastern Beach carpark

TIME: bright an early - 8:30am, departing 8:45am (better early than to be late)

need full tank of fuel, an money for citylink daypass ($9.85 - lasts 24hrs) aswel as lunch etc... friends (passangers) are welcome. If you want to officially join SAU-VIC you can on the day @ a cost of $50 (I will be), future cruises will be a members only thing.

anyway, heres detials provided by snowman:

Cruise Details

Meeting Place and Time.

Western End of the Upper Ferntree Gully Train Station Car Park.

Melways Reference: Map 74 F6.

10:30am with an expected departure time of 11:00am.

This cruise is fairly long - extremely twisty in places - and the road has some sections that are VERY narrow. Consequently we will be running it at a controlled safe speed. But this is probably one of the best scenery cruises we will do through Australia's tallest forest so we'll be asking everyone to back off, relax and enjoy the drive.

Please make sure that you have a FULL tank of fuel when you start. There is both Optimax and Ultimate available less that 500m from our starting point. The next available 98RON fuel will be an optimax that is about 180kms from the start of the cruise - and that is through very twisty conditions. Total distance of the cruise (back to Ferntree Gully) is about 250kms. Depending on how long we stop for lunch I expect to be back well before 5pm.

All the members that come along - be sure to bring along your membership cards as we have the club stickers to hand out. They look fantastic.

If there are guys out there that haven't joined the club and wish too - we will have membership forms available on the day. Most of the cruises for next year will be for members only.

the guy parked next to me only got his R33 a few weeks ago, and has already caved the back in....he's shattered, as any of us would be...

Wasn't his fault though. Had his car parked up near Crown Casino and when he came back some bastard had smashed into the rear of his car and drove off without leaving their details.

Poor dude, you'd be pissed off to say the least!!

On another note, do you know if that R33 is a real Tommy Kaira car?

LOL, I've seen this dude already about 3 times last week around the waterfront and coming out of the eastern beach carpark!

That kit looks pretty good regardless if its a tommy kaira or not.

its a Tommy front but thats it (type M sides an stealth/drift wing)....cars stock bar front mount, bit of boost, an exhaust (power wise anyway), goes well!, an it wasnt hit in a carpark, thats one of 3 i know of stories going round. story he told me was kinda his fault, but not gonna put the story up here for certain reasons.

you guys up for the cruise next sat? should be good fun for sure. I'm definately going for sure, so's Pavel i think....the more the merrier :P spread the word

    • There are adaptors that allow you to delete the booster and use an s15 clutch master cylinder.    if you want to keep the booster they are still available brand new
    • I visited again today: It would appear they have painted the main body of the car and some parts of some of the panels, so I can say that I now have BMW parts in my car, much to the envy of @Dose Pipe Sutututu It is still covered in dust which is quite the tease but I did look at a few circumspect spots that will be behind bumpers and such and wiped some dust away: After my repeated begging to PLEASE DONT PAINT OVER THE ENGINEERING CERTIFICATE (you have to re-engineer the entire car if they do) I see THIS: Which is great. Excellent job tbh at least to me. A better non dusty example would be the backs of the doors that have been painted: Giving a reasonable contrast between old and new (I know the old isn't clear coated on the inside of doors). The door card will well and truly cover where the old paint is, you can see in the second pic some of the black butyl/whatever shit is sticking the plastic sheet behind the door transfer that has happened since it's clearly been stuck back on. The most maddening thing about this colour is every time I saw it in the wild it looks like another colour, same with photos of many cars with the same colour looking wildly different in every photo anybody ever takes and this is no exception. But stand a little further back and it suddenly looks dark AF. I did tell them when I was discussing which of the 70 million charcoal colours to choose from (a porsche one, a BMW one, or a R32 GTR one etc) that if they just ignored me and chose one at random I would probably never notice. Maybe they did. But the colour is supposed to be B39 (BMW Mineral Gray). Boring I know, but the R34 sedan (to me) really shows off it's boat-ness when you paint it in a bright colour like bayside blue or white or whatever else. I do have a fondness for AR2 Nissan Red, but decided against that because it'll have pretty odd contrast to random bits unpainted (like engine bay, bits of trim etc, and maybe it'll fade). And people will always fkin comment on AR2. Everything remains super dusty. I have tracking numbers for the new heads, as well as some Improved Racing goodies, but they probably will be a next year thing by the time they end up on the car. I did some maths on the heads and I know why nobody goes to this extent in Australia, because it's really not worth it, given I could have just CNC'ed my current heads, bought a FAST102/TB and used my current rocker/spring/cam combination and get a 383 stroker (or stroked a 6.0 GenIV bottom end to 6.6L) built for the same price of just the setup in the mail/on the floor here. Or I could have bought a LS3 and a Drysump system. And then have a complete engine to sell. Oh well
    • We just disconnected the vacuum line if I remember correctly, booster is still there. Is there a rebuild solution for the booster or a different adapter that will work for GTR chassis?
    • Yeah 4wd (boosted) has a recess in the firewall for the booster, and 2wd is flat - the example in the link shows the flat surface. When you deleted the booster, did you just attach the factory slave cylinder directly to the recess in the firewall with no adaption?
    • Yes, but no. You need to keep the mating surfaces bare (ie the flat faces where the caliper and upright pads touch the dogbone) and also the internal threads will remain bare (unless there are no internal threads - do they use nuts on all the bolts?). So you can slow down obvious external corrosion, but not all of it. Anodising would be required to provide decent protection to the alloy, but I'm not actually sure if you should anodise something that is all about the strength. Anodising does reduce strength significantly. Like, up to 50% on some alloys for high thickness coating.
