Hey all just wondering if a Q45 throttle body will work on a RB25 with a greddy plenum and a stock ecu? (i've already wired up tps etc) Will it effect fuel maps on high load dude to the greater flow of air? or will it last one night of skidding at QR?

any advise would help heaps cheers Davo.

If the TB makes a difference to the flowrate (ie if its less or more restrictive than what you have now) you might get into different cells in the fuel maps, but being a stock ECU everything will be very conservative so i doubt you'll notice any difference.

Changing injector size or MAF is what doesnt work with stock ECU.

Hehe... Pretty much my reaction as well.

To the OP - Why do you need a Q45?

All you do is soften the accelerator control/response by going a bigger TB. It is 110% NOT required.

I ran near on 400rwkw with the stock TB without a problem as have plenty of people before/after myself.

TB Upgrades for the most part are silly. I actually know of two people who have taken them off and gone back to the factor one for more precise throttle control.

The reason i used a Q45 TB is becasue i dont have enough time to make a adaptor plate and it bolts stright up to a greddy plenum. I'll be chucking in a PFC within 2 weeks but the reason i ask if a stock ecu will work is because i plan on taking my car on track without engine failure. The Q45 is a massive TB and i just thought it would b easyer chucking it on whilst i did my inlet manifold but there isnt really a need for it. but thanks everyone for ya input i'll let u know how it skids when i finish my cooler piping.
