GFB Hybrid BOV....

Hey guys,

i think it must have been a thread that got lost with the down time... but someone wanted me to let them know how it went when i got my BOV put on...

I response to that... SWEEET.... i have it tuned so it flutters down low and makes the big WAAAACHHHSHSHSHHHHH up high....

havn't had any problems with stalling or backfiring or anything so it's all good...

Also, how much would you usually pay to have a BOV like this installed on a R32 GTS-t? I reckon i could have done it myself but the ppl who i got the car off said i have to have it done there to keep warranty... damn b4st4rds charged me $200 for it too... bit pricy i reckon... what about you guys?....

if it came with the adapter to suit, it would've costed you about 5 minutes of your time

Yeah, that's what i originally though, but because you cant face the trumpet up... they had to extend the plumback tubin (cutting the metal pipeline) so that the tubing could be bent the right way to go onto the bov...

About 1/2 an hours work i reckon... damn B4ST4RDS, they know i wanna keep my warranty... so they charged a stupid price...

i bort myself a new blue hybrid bov still in box of sum dude, i just went out and bort the adapter plate the other day for 50 bucks.

Yep, mines blue too...

yeah, i got the adapter for $50 as well... got the BOV for $250.... all straight from GFB...

To mount it, youll have to point the adapter towards the drivers side and face the trumpet forward... that's the easiest way so that the hoses will bend efficiently....

I thought it'd be better to cut a circle in the bonnet and place fine mesh over it (on the underneath so it looks good from outside)... then face the trumpet up.... maybee that can be a future mod for me...

Which adapter did you get from gfb?

i got the low profile screw-on version.

Its the same style as the stealth fx bov for the skyline.

Fitting the return pipe is a bitch on the hybrid (and so is finding a hose to connect it with), but it really is a great BOV. I wish I had waited another month or 3 as the stealth FX came out then. It's the best bov I've ever seen.

yeah they are a good thing to have, mine was stalling before i had the plumbback attached, only cost me $100 bucks but i think that was a bit dear when look at what was done!!

adapter... with the size of the BOV, won't you have truble fittin it under the bonnet with that adapetr?... Looks like it's designed so the BOV will stand up on it???

Do you hav a mount set up for it or something?....

To tune it, the guy at GFB told me to adjust the nut lookie thing on the top (i think he called it the actuanator or sumfin...) about 1/2 a turn at a time and see how it goes... he said it's ok to flutter under about 3500RPM and about 3-4PSI...

i just got the guys who installed it to do all that playing around but i think i'll tweak it a lil more so that it fluttters a lil higher in the RPM's... at the mom it's prob just before the 3500RPM mark...

I asked the mechanic dude where i take my car - and he said there designed for skylines r34 - r33 to fit and bolt straight on.

And im still waiting for my r34 so yeh - i dont have a car to put it on yet

Yeah, wouldn't have a clue about any others so the mechanic would be right....

If ya have any troubles with adjustment, just ring the guys at GFB... they're really good... they'll tell ya exactly what to do... I wrote down what the guy told me but can't find the bit of paper... lol...
