it looks like it retains the original Viper upper/lower control arm and the upright??

In the front there is absolutly no protection in a hit, but the steering rack appears to have been front mounted leaving it very exposed??

Very interesting to look at though. Yank built??

Duncan ask an ye shall receive.

Yer body needed to be put in place for rear wing mounts, fuel cell etc etc, coming off for paint in the next week or so.

Risking looks that way but it is not, there is still another 2 feet of splitter etc to be mounted on the front. And the suspension is all dodge but its been modified to take spherical bearings in the A arms that attach to the chassis.

Also the uprights are again dodge but have been machined out to take Pankl centre lock spindles

sad fact is BB i could send it to you and back twice for the same price as a set of rear drive shafts LOL. Still i hope its all going to be worth it.

and in fact we have decided to ditch the exige project as its far more complex than the viper and run the viper as our 24 hour car which it was designed for in the first place......just need to find another 5000 euro for the bladder tank... i might just send the bill to you if thats ok and pay you off with skyline rides :-)

yeah send me the bill for your bladder. I've been filling mine for years and it's held strong...

stop whinging about your driveshafts! it's a bloody V10 Oreca Viper! if it was cheap I'd be driving one to work, all of it sideways in 2nd...and I'd have back-up one just to keep my carspace occupied at home.

you could build another 32 for a set of viper driveshafts and a new bladder. what a sad state of affairs. where is the guy who was fibreglassing his own ghetto bumper?!? you've changed man. gone all Hollywood on me... at least I'm still keepin it real with some POS that runs 10% of the time...

Nar mate still have the ghetto bumper bring it out on special occasions. And i am doing just about all the work on this bloody car too, now if i can just work out to carbon fibre stuff i am home free.

but still BB if you have to be a bear then might as well be a grizzly i reckon, and it breaks ya nuts everytime you roll out to race seeing pure muppet rich boys watching the best of the best being hauled out of the air condition race transporter. Then proceed to hand your a$#e back to on a platter.

Yes we do have a fairly expensive car to rebuild but as always i like a challenge but this time we are going to to it right or not at all.

ps skyline should be available some mid next month for track time you coming over?

If my bloody apartment gets sold between now and then (and it better) i'm there dude!

good to see you're still keeping it real! haha. it's no fun to win just because you have the best toy and the most money and the biggest pantec. well that's what I keep telling myself...

Anyway pressing on got the electrical system installed and tested this week, although Haltech are developing a new ECU for this car so a little unsure about what they require but shouldnt be to hard to work that in i think.

Had a big win yesterday didnt have much info on the airjacks that came with the car so wasnt sure of the required working pressure. Took some measurements and did some calculations and they told the jacks would lift the car with about 70 psi give or take a few psi. Got me some 10 bar nylon tube with press in fitting and sure enough up she come with 70 psi, very cool i thought as we can do this off a very small compressor......very happy.

Also had the dampers serviced in holland this week and they were in good condition so they will be back this week and so will the BBS wheels that went away for a clean up.

New front body work is leaving the states on monday so it will be here late next week, then fitted and body work can go away for paint.

Diff and gearbox coolers will i hope be plumbed up today and will start to mount the fuel pumps and control system.

Still waiting on the 7000 euro driveshafts to arrive ggrrrrrrrr

    • So been ocd with timing mark but checked from few angle and seems both cam are on and crank is matching as well to the slot on sump and crank pully i noticed crankshaft cover has been robbed as per attached pic. Any ideas why? Could my balancer or harmonic be on its way out? should I replace the cover? https://ibb.co/ZR1JFYRR
    • So now doing the change and first time dealing with rb so little nervous giving engine power and potential for screwing it up When you align all marks and then remove crank bolt, timing move little I assume you can put the bolt back in once you have removed the pully to get timing to where you want? here is pic of my both intake and exchust cam aligned, depending on angle you look they seem to be either aligned or a half tooth or so out. Any thoughts? Should you angle your face and look at each mark that way as if looking straight rather than from above as it can be misleading https://ibb.co/ZpnhcvbF https://ibb.co/4wm2wn4q
    • Thanks for the reply @GTSBoy Haven't really thought of that yet, but you are right. If the hose was damaged it should be absolutely pissing by now. I'll put some heat sleeve around it for good measure since I'm already removing the line anyway. Maybe I'll put on some of the stock hardlines if I ever fully remove the turbos again. Maybe when T51R modding the compressor housings? Might be a fun mod on GT28s for that "fake single turbo" effect.
    • Update 1: I did some work on the car already before finalizing this post and my "issues" list. I dropped the Tomei exhaust in favor of the HKS Hi Power Silent. Sounds nice and I can actually hear myself think now. Also gives me a realistic chance to legally drive without silencer inserts. A bit of cheating was necessary to still be able to mount the Top Secret style diffuser. Some malusage of washers and a bit of "convincing" toward the brackets and exhaust hanger seemed to do the trick. The shaky steering wheel has been resolved as various suspension components were worn, like sway bar bushings and link bars. Most notably the two steering tie rod ends. Had some trouble finding bushings because my sway bars are not OEM thickness, 23.x up front and 27 rear. But non adjustable, so no aftermarket I suppose. Maybe they are nismo units? Turbo oil drain hoses were definitely still the originals and are new now. Wasn't the cause of the turbo oil leak sadly. Currently removing the rear turbo because of it, I suspect the braided oil feed line is the culprit. This issue needs to be dealt with so I can work towards actually getting the turbo setup legal and inspected. Two new issues to add to the list as well. Rear Main seal is probably leaking. Time will show how bad it is, I don't really want to drop the gearbox right now just for the stupid seal. Could fix a few other things in one go once I do that. Front right driveshaft grease is going past the cv boot, so at some point I'll fix that too.
    • Ok so no 4cyl clutch... Yeah it is a factory manual. So if iam correct i need clutch and flywheel too?
