A few of us tried to get a team put together last year for this event but after many broken cars and other hassles it didnt happen.

Im planning to enter again this year now we have a GTR thats reliable and can go the distance.

So who has a car thats prepared, racable and should go the distance??

I can get 6 cars with ease but would like to try and get a group of skylines together instead of a mixed bag to begin with.

Im prepared to let my car do a triple session, if we cant get the drivers/cars. Myself and Jay will be driving the GTR and may open it up to someone else if need be.

We're not really after ball tearing cars that can lap faster than anyone else. We'd like reliable consistant cars with drivers that can handle a 20min session and be consistant.

Thats what it takes to win the event not outright pace.....

Dont want to leave this till last minute like we did last year

So if anyone is interested say so.

Late november from memory mate.

Your one of the guys id let steer the GTR if yours was not in a good way so if your keen we can work around the car issue closer to the date.

I know my GTR could do atleast half the race without a problem besides tires.

As for times I think anything that can lap around the 10's for 20 mins solid is good enough. The key to these events is consistantcy. So no use showing up if you can spit out a 5 and then not maintain it for 20mins and behond.

Cars require a AASA log book which is piss poor. and a cage.

yeah my car will be fine to run 1.10s for 20min. Or an hour if need be. cant go better than an 8 in qualifing but I don't think that wil be an issue

would be great to see an sau team in.

only thing for me is timing is a bit iffy, I am booked for mt buller 1st weekend dec so hopefully this isnt the weekend before (then again they are both aasa so at least i can get a good run on proper boost

pete...it would be a hell of a first race for your car. pretty tight to finish it by then realistically tho

Yep your on the money Duncan.

I agree an hour should be no problem at all but if we can get enough entrants it brings the entry fee down and the potential for damage down as well.

I know my car can do 6's for 20mins solid. Its consistant within 1/2 second depending on traffic and my concertration. So I figured if I knock it down a peg and run around in the 10's all day it should be perfectly healthy should any other cars have to drop out.

So Pete, myself, jay and possibly Duncan are looking good.

sounds like good fun

my best at wakie is a 1:11 in a close to shtocker r33 gts-t (semis helped- i have more excuses if needed  )

havent done a lap in anger in something quick in some time :)

but i am consistent - interesting in running if there is a spot for slowish but consistent?

Kel's in so now we got a team!

we nominate a lap time for each driver so it doesnt matter if the cars are all of a different pace.

It works along the same lines as the eastern creek 6 hour. they calculate how many theoretical laps the team should be able to do. but if you drop under your nominated lap time that lap does not get added to the lap count. Pretty sure thats how they still work it.

mmmmmmm i am no were near 10s mate but i have not driven on proper semis there yet, i did run a few 1.11's on RT615's last trip down there. I don't know how i will go for 20 mins tho but i will put my self down for a slow maybe option if i can get the car down there before hand and see how is it going after it has been apart.

But i am willing to lend a hand closer to the date with towing and prep work if needed mate.

i think someone who can steer could get my car down into the 10s, it would be nice to get some feedback from someone with experience also. if your short a car let me know Duncan, ill have to re-mount seat for you but was going to do that anyway.

Just have to organise logbook.

300 is about 130 laps right? pretty sure the 500 I did was about 200 laps. So about 2.5 hours

    • So we have most the interior back in, and for the first time with one OEM speaker hooked up. The 31 is running, driving and now tunes!!! Hahaha yet another step for the sub that sat 10m under for two weeks!!! unbelievable really 👌 lots of love work and not giving up on her. Seen so many youngsters part way less, and in way better condition. I’m stubborn, thinking another problem is just a hurdle to overcome, One at a time. IMG_9277.mov
    • That is correct. I'm using a modified ABS ring and a ZF speed sensor on my rear diff for speed input. I'm running a Haltech ecu.
    • Been busy with the newborn. We originally thought we were going to go for a third, but we're good with two lol. He's starting to actually sleep now so I've had some energy to work on the car. It's been parked away in the garage since late November due to winter.  I went ahead and redid all my head oil drains. I originally had my front and rear head drain going into the same pipe but have since split them up. I also added an Ethanol content sensor to get ready to run E85 this summer. Tossed it on my return line. Sensor sits nicely under my intake manifold.    I also have a lot of parts that came in for my rear end. I'll be swapping over to a 3.3 final drive and doing the GK teck anti squat mod. While the rear subframe is off, I'll also change every bushing. We're planning on buying another house soon with the condition that I get at a minimum a 2 door garage, so I'll wait to have more room for this. Now onto the strange things that recently happened... After changing the lower rad hose (It had been sitting in my cabinet for well over a year and was the last hose I had to replace), I let the car idle in the garage to bleed my coolant. After running for a few minutes, it started missing. Got much worst within a minute or two and then stalled and would not restart. My crank sensor decided to crap itself. No damage, no explanation, just died. I went ahead and replaced it with another ZF sensor but the heavier duty stainless model with a shield. Tossed that in and started right up. Has anyone else seen this? I hate when things fail without cause. Luckily this was a blessing in disguise... This lead me to recheck my timing. It seems I may have had a beer or two the last time I had set my TDC angle as I was off exactly 5 degrees... I miscounted a line haha. I was running 5 degrees less then commanded. It's a little embarrassing but helps explain why my dyno operator seemed to think I should be making more then 478rwkws.
    • Sharing results from recent Liberty Walk R35 GTR, since they are still considered as somesort of a V36 Skyline. We do them turbos too. • Nah no bearings, just slip fit.  Would be a reasonably challenging but not impossible job to modify it to run bearings but I'm hoping that's not necessary as I may have well built one myself if I end up spending hours modifying it!
