i think someone who can steer could get my car down into the 10s, it would be nice to get some feedback from someone with experience also. if your short a car let me know Duncan, ill have to re-mount seat for you but was going to do that anyway.

Just have to organise logbook.

Don't worry about the 10s stu, your car will be good for an 8 or 7 once it is sorted and yuo get some seat time.

Why not enter this? Your car is very well prepped and should be fine to last the distance. All you'd really need is a practice day down there beforehand to get the hang of the place. Their open days are cheap, and you'd get plenty of laps

i guess its a bit of a confidence thing, i was pretty messy last time and it rattled me a bit, still would like someone else to have a steer just to get some ideas on how it feels from a different pespective.

If i can get a logbook sorted and the boys are happy to have me along id have a go.

Just to clear a few things up, the Wakefield Park 300 is a enduro race held on the 29th of November.

Cost is $600 per team

A minimum one pit stop with no set time.

Only one car per team can enter with up to four drivers. Most run two or three drivers depending.

Fuel stops are carried out in the dummy grid unless you have dry brake systems which then allows for refuel at your pit garage. The car can be kept running to accomodate turbo cars with a requirement of having two fire mashals on hand.

Either CAMs, iRace or ASSA car can enter.

Licence can be CAMS or ASSA.

This is open class racing with classes based on times as opposed to classes to eliminate the hassle of parity etc.

Adam Ronke has a three care team competing which includes a R33 GTST which has been built specifically for these kind of events.

Two SW20 Mr2's will be entered, EVO's, MX5turbo's and NA's, a 300hp Pug, commadores, and more.

the regs are evpected this week so get you entry in ASAP as it looks like it will be a full field.

There are no timed fuel/pit stops this year due to a regulation change.

If you have a dry break system you can refuel at your garage. If you do not have dry break you must refuel in the dummy grid.

As far as the daewoo goes, I expect they will be close to $900 for the weekend with the best person to talk to being Adam Ronke at Winton as he is organising the lease options. He has tuned the cars since you have driven the Daewoo with a reasonable performance gain so they should go OK.

lol so 55fwkw now? I think they are a good option for this event, particularly in the new format. My car is racing weekend before at phillip island and week after at buller so I am not going to enter it......but the might woo is a geniune option.

good work keeping this event alive, it is a blast.

assuming the format is the same next year, I will make sure we get dry break system fitted to my car (one of the few freedoms in cams 3e I haven't done yet) and bring it along. I can't see a car without that winning, no matter how fast it is the pit stops will just take too long

    • As a general rule removing rubber fuel hose is so difficult I would replace it if it hasn't been done in the last 5 years. The risk you damage the liner or one of the inner layers is pretty high if it's not almost brand new. BMW's recommendations around coolant hoses is similar. My R33's fuel hoses at the fuel tank were so perished that they were ready to burst FYI.
    • Ah yep, will do. Cheers!
    • Yes. It's either "2 wires", or 1 wire, depending on how you look at it. It is the connection that ties the battery -ve to both the chassis and the engine. Every electron that goes in or out of the battery goes through those 2 small spots (on the inner guard and on the engine block). If those are not clean and tight, then shit starts to suffer. Yeah, but measure it again cold in the morning, after it has had hours to rest. You can't usefully test the charge state of a battery immediately after it has been running because the alternator puts a surface charge onto the plates that takes a while to soak in and balance out. It will always read higher, and potentially look properly healthy, when fresh off of charge. But hours later it can look a lot less healthy. It's also worth measuring the battery voltage while cranking, although this can be difficult with a typical DMM because the screem update rate is so slow on most of them. An analogue voltmeter is actually a better tool for that. If the voltage drops too far while cranking, it is a sign of a poor battery. Although I don't think we're necessarily looking for a weak battery here - just wanting to exclude it.
    • https://www.facebook.com/share/15ZMn5oXtc/ Updated Event (so its not private and can be shared easier)  Attempting to coordinate a big push of Stagea's to this years GTR Festival. Great event last year and hoping for the same this year.  Discounted tickets 20% off for their various tickets until the 3rd of Feb Monday. Drags, show and shine etc.  I've emailed them to ask to set a location aside for the Stageas for the show and shine - they are happy to do so if we can get them numbers, I'm happy to keep track of that. Entering as Nismo category.  I'll be road tripping up from Melbourne, would be cool to convey if people are interested, maybe there is SAU convoys from each capital? If you have ideas about that let me know.  https://gtrfestival.com.au
