this is how I launch the race car, but only 5500 to 6000. Personally the need to protect the clutch is more important that a tiny bit off the line because it still has to last a whole race. Its a little under full boost on my turbs because its not fully loading it, but it is realiable way to launch.

Loading the driveline up by letting the clutch slip a little for about a second before launching is important to make sure nothing breaks.

Ask Ben (Brad's current car) what happens when you take all the tough talker's advice and just dump it at 8000.

no tough talk here...just lots of experience. Launching on a drag strip and launching anywhere else is not even the same sport. Im yet to have a driveline issue launching. Matt took his Red R prepped street GTR to the drags recently...shocking 60's until he used a limiter launch technique.

But yes your technique is the go if running stock or small turbo's on regular tarmac.

hahaha me GTR has a massice hole in the shock tower and the fire wall from big RPM launches its kinda funny cause thats the reason I ended up with the car to begin with.

Now I dial up even more RPM and step the clutch even harder and think everytime whoops wheres the flywheel.....
