hya everyone.

iv got a safc2 installed in my car and it has been tuned before but since the tune the car has had a engine swap (same engine) due to a bottom end knock, since the engine swap the car has been running like shit, it was running too rich with s15 injectors so we had to put stock injectors back in and it still runs like poo. the safc 2 is still wired to the car and i dont wanna pay for a re tune as iv just recieved my power fc today but cant get it tuned till late next week. i know the simplest and easiest thing to do would be to disconnect it from the ecu but we have done this before and the car wouldnt even drive. so my question is could i just put all the settings on the safc2 back to 0? would that cancel out the safc2?

cheers

well i suppose before the settings were to compensate for the s15 injectors but since now your on the stock ones again i think what you should do is get a wideband and check what your air/fuel ratio is at throughout the rpm band. so you can accurately adjust the safc.

hm is the back fire between shifts? do you have a venting blow off valve? that could cause that....

what i think you should do is go back and start from the beginning and just go through everything.

maybe a full tuneup, check all your voltages are correct. i wouldnt use s15 injectors unless your ecu was tuned for it and im guessing you on the stock ecu.

kinda sounds like your car is running really rich...

You will need to go into the menu and return the settings to factory, then re-set the SAFC2 to the correct settings for your engine.

In other words you have to do the "before you start the car" procedure. Then it will run with no settings and be a glorified tachometer :)

Dont forget once you change all the settings to "Key Off" the ignition to save them, THEN restart the car.

cheers for the replys

iv put it back to factory, the only settings that are still the same is car type and sensor type, do i need to change all of them to 0 aswell?

yeh it was set for the s15 injectors, i have set the safc back to factory because iv got a power fc now but wont be getting it tuned for atleast 2 weeks

yeh does backfire between shifts, always done that but also backfires, misfires and hesitates between 2000-3000rpm.

its funny you mention voltages coz when its idling like shit the voltage on the apexi turbo timer drops down to around 10 - 11 v

cheers

I dont mean setting everything back to Zero, in one of the main menu's there is an option to reset the SAFC to factory settings. Better to do it that way just incase. Key off to save that "0" setting, then procede with the "before starting" setup, Key off to save that. THEN restart the car :)

done that mate. problems are still there.the problem only tarted when the garage swapped the fuel rail with s15 injectors with another fuel rail with stock injectors so could it be something to do with that?

cheers
