Surely, they can be easily tracked down thru the "Paper Trail" back from the Retailer! Bums!

Feel sympathy for GReddy

Feel sorry for an innocent purchaser that ends up with damage to his turbo etc

Don't feel sorry for the retailer who should know who he's dealing with in the 1st place.

And the Counterfeiters need to be put out of business and penalised. I probably only need a couple of guesses as to which country they come from.

There are lots of Ideas going around on where they come from, but who can crack down on them?

Greddy apparently,

If you suspect you have purchased, or know of a person selling, counterfeit GReddy products please contact us at [email protected] , so we pursue these criminals and there fraudulent parts.

If I was making them I would email them, thanking them for the advice on how I can improve my fraudulent product. There would be nothing they can do.

But that's just me...

it is extremely easy to do. buy a new bov, send it to a factory in china, get them to replicate it, tell them how cheap you want them to be and away you go. seems to be that they will change one of 2 little things to make it obvious to someone who looks closely enough to see that it is fake, but close enough to fool 99.9% of people. i know that with some stuff they will simply alter the spelling of the name. it happens with holley carbies. they just spell it holly on the fakes

i do sell the knock off ssqv's, but they're clearly labelled "monza" on them, and i tell people that they're a copy and not the real thing. its people who are too tight to pay for the real thing because wankers like nengun.com sell directly into australia and not pay any duty or gst, and shaft every retailer and people who has anything to do with the car industry. it's a load of crap. its why apexi and trust went into recievership. if anyone buys parts of e-bay and gets shafted by a copy, sucks to be you.

    • I found the same with Subaru’s.  I own and love the SG9 Forester, after that model 2008+, Subaru threw the ugly stick at all their line up and somehow managed to make them look worse with every succeeding year.  lol
    • It's something we all have to consider as time marches on. Also consider lifted rally MX5 conversion at that point.
    • I should be fine for a few more years, whilst I do have arthritis I also exercise and do mobility training every day to keep as fit and healthy as I can, military life, which is the actual cause of most of my joint issues, has set daily regimes, which I weirdly enjoy I also train alot smarter now, not really focusing on lots strength or puffy muscles, I'm more focused on maintaining what I have for my future older self, I actually train as much mobility now as I do exercising Check out this "simple" drill I have been doing daily prior to training now for a while now, this has worked wonders in my all round mobility
    • I'd say one thing that may make you sell is the same reason the guy with the hard top roof sold his. He got old, and his back was giving him too much grief stopping him getting in and out... Old guy said he was 73! He looked and sounded younger than 73 to me! Or maybe I'm just aligning with old people more...
    • Already looked at a few prior to getting the MX5, really nice car, had all the mod cons, but I wasn't really sold on the new "look" I did miss my 2017 Limited, and I personally prefer the "look" of the older car over the new model, but, when pondering I kept going back looking at MX5's But it was same same for the new ND's, I wasn't sold on the new "look", especially the RF with its weird roof, which only half goes down, like a targa top sort of thing As I stated before, I did look at NC's, but the cars I looked at were PRHT's, but I didn't like their roof line "look" of the PRHT, until I saw the soft top version, (someone on SAU posted a for sale ad for one with a soft top that caught my attention, you can blame them for my choice.....🤣) and.... that old style detachable hard tops were available for them, which keeps the old MX5 more smoother flowing roof line, and the more rounded body style, similar to the NA-NB, to me, the arse end of the ND looks to "modern" Much like how I prefer the NC1 front bar, over the later models How long will I keep this car for is unknown, but currently, there's nothing else out there that "floats my boat" for a small, fun, little "sports car", that I can play with and enjoy looking at and driving But, who knows what the future holds, and going off current new car styling, if I replace it, it will be a older model something something
