mmm the GTRs turbine would work with a .49 rear fine. Even now Garrett still use them as upgrades on the 300zx and GTR OEM turbos. Putting a big comp wheel in to small housing will cause surge. But this wheel is not big enough to do that. It will still make reasonable power, in any twin turbo setup you can't have 100% efficiency out of a single turbo out of any housings you put in.

any way, we can supply Garrett GTRS-5 for OEM GTR upgrade at $1250 each. So might want to pay abit more and get that with brand new housings and actuators instead. Depends on your buggdet

Hey mate,

I got mine rebuilt with steel wheels using the existing housing, it cost me around $1200 for the two of them much cheaper than buying -5 or -7. It really depends on what you wanna do with the car, I got 254awkw on 18psi before the clutch started slipping, still a good result with a bit more boost would have been close to 300rwkw. At this level and also very close to mine you need new clutch new afm and new injectors, cost you anround the 2k for the clutch, 600 for afm, 600+ for the injectors and will be out of puff on the fuel pump. in the end I decided once you go above the limit of the std equipment it starts tocost you $$$$. I was content with running close to the limit of my equipment so rebuilding the std items with an upgraded spec was a better option if you dont want to chase big power. If done properly the responce should be better than stock. Its not a job you wanna do a couple of times as its costly if you dont do it yourself. Will send you the guy who did mine if you wanna know.

Also very happy with mine. Yours are gonna have slightly diff comp wheels and housing on the front as well.

Have Fun

    • I thought about ditching it but I was worried my bonnet would sound like a 90's Swift GTi sub-filled boot.
    • Have you found that you have to tighten your alternator belt once in a while? Mine has started to squeal again after the mechanic tightened it roughly a year ago and the engine starts up slow if I don't start it every day (think the starter motor is going out). It used to be if I don't drive it once a week I'd get a quick squeal on the belt but now it's every day or every other day. I might make a post of the start up sound.
    • I spent the entire of the long weekend going through my garage and I'm now, after 3.5yrs in this house, able to fit a car in. The garage is quite long and the back half has a high enough ceiling for a 2 post lift but it's going to just take too much space and I don't think I'd be able to get around the car if it was in the air. So, in comes the quick lift. It looks perfect. High enough to do most things, I reckon even getting a gearbox out would be doable.  Does anybody here have one? They're fairly cheap (~$3k) considering...  https://www.dtmtrading.com.au/product/quick-lift-portable-vehicle-hoist-3500-kg-worksafe-approved/ I'm also a bit of a non risk taker so I'd probably still use stands when under!
    • Well now we all see it! I did the same. Then cut it out. Then melted half of it. Then discarded it entirely. So... you're in good company.
    • I just replaced the god awful, sagging, crunchy bonnet insulation. It's something nobody but I see but it's been at me for a while.
