just looking at the car, and wondering why this hose would be blocked off??? and if it will have an impact on anything?

its the small hose at the front of the intake on a 33 gtst. it should goto in to a regulator, but is blocked off.

hrm, strange. ill have to check. though i would have thought that was obvious.

the oe fuel pressure reg is there, so....

so if that is blocked off and the end is blocked off on the oe pressure reg, does that mean is running really rich up top?

Without a pressure regulator, the pressure will be whatever the fuel pump does at 12v (or whatever voltage they run at).. hard to say if it would run ultra rich or ultra lean, either way the fuel injector spray pattern will be off.

take a picture of the actual hose thats blocked on yours. not just a diagram. Might make it easier to figure out.

If it IS that hose, then yeah, its your FPR, and it would be odd of it was. BUT some of the really late model 33's had a blank nipple on the intake manifold near that location. No idea what it was for, because it seemed to only be the late modeld. IE really late 97/early 98's.

My 98 had a blocked nipple pictured:

OLD photo, but you can see the blanked off nipple there above the big brass blank plug thing on the IM.

Not sure if its that your talking about or something else.

problem solved. thanks mate!

i had this picture in my head of the front of the intake without the nipple and looked at the '98 and saw it was blocked off..

for the benefit of others this is a '97 intake.

Wierd huh? I havnt been able to find anyone that can tell me WTF the reason fr putting it there on the 98's was.

Maybe something to do with the R34? As i hear some parts of the 98 33s are shared with the 34, or vice verca. Maybe something to do with TCS maybe.. *shrugs*

EDIT:

Im wrong

Just found this, and its R34 NEO. And has no nipple...

So now im confused :) ha

The idea of the vacuum line to the pressure regulator is to maintain a constant pressure difference across the fuel injectors from the fuel rail to the inlet. This is done so that the fuel flow is the same regardless of the level of vacuum or boost pressure therefore allowing the ECU to easily calculate the correct amount of time to keep each injector open for optimum fuel air mixture.

If like it seems you are saying, the pressure regulator has no vacuum connection to the plenum, then your car is going to be running very rich under vacuum & very lean at full boost. Get this fixed ASAP unless you feel like spending big money on a new engine soon.....
