Smacked In Muffler Question

hi im about to buy an exhaust system with a smacked in muffler lol..

will that affect the performance ?

will it affect anything ?

jus buyin it cos im broke atm nd need a new exhaust..

oh another question, can i buy a replacement muffler? lol and install it with the exhaust system?

The answer to Qs 1 & 2...

It depends on how much of a hit the muffler has sustained.

Can you and a mate shake the exhaust system and listen for any broken baffles. They may only be a bit bent inside = no worries.

With a tight budget, and no breakages inside that muffler, I'd install it but I'd also paint the welds at each end of the muffler with zinc/alum. or anti-corrosion paint first, in case the 'smack' has exposed them to future rust.

Q3 > Yes you can simply have the weakened muffler replaced at a later date.
