I am considering buying some new bits and pieces as my car needs new turbos. One of the HKS2530s have had it. It's an R32 GTR. I'll be buying -5s.

I was also considering buying some R34 dumps as they are better than the R32s I believe, but perhaps also some R34 (N1) manifolds also, to freshen it all up at the very least as the current stuff is 20 years old.

I noticed Blitz had Tomei dumps for sale, but they are R32/33 specific... Do the R34 manifolds and dump pipes differ at all to the R32 stuff?

i'm fairly sure the 32 stuff is the junk in terms of manifolds... 33 and 34 have better flow but i think the 34 ones were made in stainless???? really not sure.

Well it seems like a good idea to replace then. :) Just wondering if it's all compatible? Just 'cause I read that some dumps were model specific!

oh mybad i read it wrong! i was talking about exhaust manifolds :) as far as the dumps go i'm not sure. Id probably upgrade from the factory dumps regardless.

Thanks mate all good. Also talking about the manifolds. Basically I'm fitting a set of -5s (currently 2530s). But I want to know if R34 (N1) manifolds and the dump pipes will all fit up to what I have now in my car. :)

Hey according to a lil research, HKS dumps for 32/33/34 gtrs are the same and the 34vspec 1 will fit too. The only difference is that the 34vspec one has an extra slot there the O2 sensor goes (something along those lines, from HKS dealer) which you can seal off using an O2 sensor bung (easily obtainable from any exhaust shop).

Since you're doing the turbos I would recommend doing the dumps as well (pain to change just dump). Remember I bought those HKS Dumps sometime ago (I found you'll need to take turbos off etc to fit them), I'm selling them now if you're keen. PM me if you're interested.

Fitted the HKS front pipe over the weekend and somehow it does feel smoother. I would love to put the dumps on but could justify paying 4hours+ labour just for that (but then again if you're doing turbos, its another case).

R32 & R33 dumps are not the same.

Maybe HKS just put an adaptor in for the O2 Sensor ??

This is the only major difference as R32's IIRC are bigger thread, R33's are smaller.

If not its the other way around, i just know they are not the same and had a new thread/nut welded onto my dumps years ago :D

Always a good source of info you are!

So is it not possible to simply fit R34 manifolds (in this case N1 which is slightly different) and dumps to a R32?

From the part number it shows both supplier has some similarity. I called up Advance Performance Centre aka APC to check if they'll fit (they're HKS distributor) and the tech guy told me it will. Except for the O2 sensor difference which I havent seen it.

I'll check the package today but I'm very sure they'll fit.

Ye the O2 sensor is the only difference - it is likely the kit just comes with an adaptor or similar so no drama's there.

It will all bolt up, just the O2's - they probably need to be replaced anyhow so just buy the ones that suit the dumps, the ECU doesn't care R32 or R33 O2's.

I've run both sensors on a R32 GTR stocker ECU, and PowerFC, doesn't worry it at all.

Ok. Just called them up again and he said 34Vspec ones have an extra O2 sensor than the other models and thats the only difference. So I guess a bung plug for a few bucks will do the trick of sealing that up.

Not sure about stock ones though.
